LCT stock gearbox - what to expect?
Good evening ASC,
I have just received my LCT TK105 NV this morning, and so far I am very happy with the externals, and the stock accuracy. I have taken it out for a covert accuracy test (aka. shooting prone from our house's mezzanine, aiming for an el cheapo dollar store 12" pizza tray I have nailed on the rear fence of our backyard )... At an estimated 140-ft range, with no hop, I landed most hits on target. ROF is decent on an 8.4v no-name battery, 13-15RPS. I haven't opened up the gearbox yet. I will do that soon to inspect, shim, and re-lube. From experience, is there anyone that can give me more info on LCT gearboxes? Quality of stock gears, hop, bushings? Help would be appreciated. Thanks! ~MooseHead |

I would describe the internals as "good enough"...
Looking at things in more detail, in no particular order... Expect: 6mm metal bushings Chromium-plated cylinder Aluminum ported piston head Double o-ring aluminum cylinder head O-ring nozzle Steel gears Plastic non-bearing spring guide Polycarbonate piston with full steel rack 18awg wiring Ferrite motor Standard plastic hop-up with apparently a "precision" brass barrel (I won't get into the obvious contradiction of this idea) FPS consistency in my copy was +/- 4fps out of the box - not bad, but not great. In comparison, some VFC copies are +/- 0.5fps out of the box. Gear shimming was fair - nothing to write home about, I should note that there is excessive gear/motor whine. Grip is only compatible with other LCT grips due to elongated motor cage. Most people seem to like the box - it's decent..for a stock gearbox and if you compare it to something like CYMA. I'll be swapping it out for a Lonex complete box with some custom bits and a Lonex motor cage so I can use a SAW-style grip. Last edited by Stealth; December 18th, 2013 at 23:13.. |

My LCT box refuses to use it's selector properly. It's infuriating; however, I think I got a lemon, so... good luck comrade!

Do you have the problem where if you switch from semi to full, it still shoots semi?
