Making PGC G17 TM Barrel Silver

I'd like to remove the finish from my pgc g17 tm barrel. I've tried the heavey paint and finish remover which did nothing and it's no soaking in vinegar and nothing appears to be happening there either. Any thoughts?

...bust out the ol sand paper and polish "kit"!

Just use sandpaper. Grab some 100 grit to remove the paint, then some 1000 or 2000 grit to give it a sheen. Sand in only one direction. Grab yourself some metal polish and a buffer attachment for a drill(6 bucks on amazon). Go to town and you'll have yourself a polished silver barrel.

I happen to have a PGC outer barrel that I've sanded the annodizing off.

Probably anodized aluminum which is tough as balls.

That makes sense cause any method shown online should've melted that off already.

Sandpaper is the only thing that's really going to work, just go to Canadian Tire and pick some up

That's not going to work, if you understand what anodizing is. It's not paint. The surface get converted to a different finish. You're going to need a lot of sandpaper or grinding tools, depending on how deep the anodizing is.

Oven cleaner will work but be careful as it will pit the aluminum if left on too long.

What oven cleaner did you use exactly? Didn't know this would work, could save me some time in the future
