Plate carrier, definitely not. Chest rig, not impossible for some missions (like special reconnaissance... I know that some guys use HSGI Denali for such missions) but never seen, so can't consider it as a fact.

As I said, it's "not impossible" but can't really be considered as a representative setup...

I have a pics of FRs in Astan wearing Wasatch (2 different guys). The Denali was mostly a pre-FSBE2 thing along with LBV88 but again mostly for woodland environment.

Most guys tend to stick to the issued kit unlike say SF and NSW

I'm talking about this, which was originally posted by an active 1st MSOB guy. These pictures are as current as you can get.

Note: I'm aware of the LAND/MAR mixup, but this is as it was originally posted

Quote:
Rig 1. Low vis vest w/ Level IV plates.

Quote:
MBAV PC W/ CB, Primarily used for Gunning in the turret. I have the MSAP kit attached to protect more of my upper body. The PC give me a lower profile so I have more room in the turret.

Quote:
Rig 2. RBAV Land, Set up for DA and helo operations. I have the safety lanyard attach to the rig as well as the weapons retention bar for rappelling or fast roping

Quote:
Rig 3. RBAV maritime, Set up for straight running and gunning. Holds up to 14 mag 2 Frag grenades and 5 flash bangs

Quote:
Rig 5. HSGI denali, used for SR and patrolling.

Quote:
Pistol rig/1st line

And that's when I asked if the CAP was actually used, as I've (almost) never seen it in pics deployed (just a few times on training)
Quote:
Well the CAP became popular after Corpsman were being targeted in Iraq because of their STOMP 2 Med bag.. This helped the Corpsman blend in with the other Marines.

Most conventional units carry the CAP and like it. I carry the Eagle Med bag with the equipment from a CAP plus some other goodies.

I just wanted to pass something on to everyone who wears a standard IFAK.

Don't get me wrong you defiantly need to have it on you, but it is very bulky and takes up a lot of room.

It is our SOP to transfer most of the IFAK and some additional items into a "nut ruck"

I would recommend everyone to do the same. It is a lot more comfortable and it frees up some landscape on your kit.

Also you can always have it, even when you drop your kit.

Something else to keep in mind. We carry 4 tourniquets on us. Most people only have one. "you have 4 limbs that can be blown off"

Here you go

Those pics got me wondering... He has a complete SFLCS kit with partial FSBE kit? Prior issue or what?

What I understood is that since SFLCS is available to the whole SOCOM, and MARSOC is now apart of SOCOM, each unit can order SFLCS to the SOCOM supply system... if I understood correctly, lol.

So basically FSBEII is basically remains of the Force Recon era and will be replaced gradually for SFLCS (including the new-ish items like the RBAV & all).

On another note:
YouTube - Marines train at Camp Fuji - Prepare for combat operations

I know it's FAST and not FR, but their gear is much closer to FR than to grunts so I posted it here.

Yeah saw that vid over MP.

FAST, DRP, FR, EOD are all issued FSBE (though EOD are wearing the SPC now like Recon Bn)
