It's easiest if you have the actual Daniel Defence barrel nut wrench, but you can do without. Just make sure you don't damage the notches.

You would apply the collar first, followed by the barrel, and then the barrel nut. Once the barrel nut is tightened down and you've confirmed the outer barrel does not wobble, slide the handguard over the barrel and secure to the collar with the 6 screws. Once secured, attach the bottom portion of the handguard and attach the 4 screws on the sides (two per side.)

Finished.

I have the exact one which I got from Huang, Hitman told him it was compatible with the WE, so he told me, I bought it, however it wasn't the case when I tried to install it.

The first half went in smoothly followed by a lot of friction. I ended up grinding down the first half of the threads in barrel nut.

You need an AR wrench like this style:

fabsports has them for about $15

LOOOOOOL I don't know why it hasn't worked with Lon but what the hell. It went perfectly smooth for me.

And yes you do need the wrench tool, the one that came with all WE M4's have it can be used.

That King Arms wrench and just about every single other barrel wrench on the market that's marketed as an "AR-15 wrench" "Armalite wrench" etc etc will all be the incorrect tool. It is NOT the correct tool to properly torque down a Daniel Defense barrel nut.

THIS is what you should be using to prevent any damage to the notches:

https://danieldefense.com/rail-syste...er-wrench.html

It *looks* like the spanner end on some Armalite multitools that fit the collar of a collapsible stock, but is not the same dimension. The stock collar is smaller, and as such, you can not get a stock collar spanner to properly engage all three notches on the DD barrel nut. If it's a last resort, you can sort of get a stock collar spanner to work by hooking just one of the three notches on to the DD barrel nut, but you have to be very careful in doing so. You will risk damaging the notches if you slip. The King Arms wrench linked above does NOT have the stock collar spanner end, so it would be useless for this situation.

In my opinion, if you're going to go this route, then you might as well use a punch and hammer and just bash away at the DD collar to attach/remove it, but you will most definitely damage it this way and you still won't be able to get the appropriate amount of torque needed to fully secure it.

hey ... thanks to all who helped .. im glad i did this ... now i know how to replace and barrel and ras system .., but i had to improvise by using a rag and monkey wrench and extreme caution not to damage anything , but all in all it worked out ...

so now that im done i thought id post a pic of the end result .. nothing really fancy but this is the m4 i thought id never have so kind of a big deal to me

while im posting this i also want to thank frank at velocity arms for all his patience/help. i cant say enough about them just an awsome place to do buisness with .

so anyways ... here is my new baby ... pretty much everything you see is from velocity arms .

i also have a new charging handle on the way and some troy rail covers and a magpul BAD lever

thanks again for all the help

with appreciation/gratitude

Ryan

Got it from Airsoftdepot.ca Canadian dealer.

Even though this was months ago, cujo, does your barrel wobble?
