Flashlight that wont shatter
So I had a flashlight on my gas P90. I was shooting full auto when I noticed something coming out of the flashlight. It looked like water dripping, but when I looked closely it turned out to be small glass pieces. Apparently the flashlight could not handle the vibration and shattered. Which leads to my question, any advice on which flashlight should I get so that wont happen again? Are there any ratings/markings I should look out for?

Get a real flashlight (Surefire, Streamlight, Inforce, Fenix). They're used on real guns and should handle your gas fake guns without any issues.

Those cost like an arm and a leg. I thought maybe someone knows more affordable options.

Buy a piece of polycarbonate or acrylic from home Depot and get a circle saw or a grinder and cut your own. Or bring it to me and I can cut it to shape for you in 1 hour for less than $10
Edit: forgot to mention you can actually buy these at airsoft stores.

Same idea as RainyEyes but use Lexan instead. Acrylic will crack when hit by bb's where as Lexan is much more resilient.

Acrylic is suitable but you just have to be picky about the thickness and the possibility of it yellowing. Too thin and it will shatter. I find that lexan is a lot easier to work with and acrylic will shatter if too thin and your grinder is too high rpm.

The right tool for the job is a tactical flashlight. Fenix makes some affordable options. That being said, your average outdoor flashlight will take the abuse of a GBBR. Are you certain your light wasn’t struck by a few BBs and that’s what broke it?

You can get a Streamlight TLR-1 for about $100USD. How much are clone lights? Like, $50? This 'OLight' seems to be quite a good value. Saw it at SHOTshow and reviews seem to be positive. https://olightworld.com/olight-pl-1-ii-valkyrie

This will help for impacts, but it won't stop shattering from recoil/vibration. (though this is something I haven't heard of before)

I would imagine the energy from an impact of a BB would be greater than that of recoil or vibration? I've dropped my flashlight with the PC lens and it hasn't broken but if you want I can show you how shock resistant it is by hitting it with a hammer.

Yeah, but if you are putting lexan in front of the lens, it doesn't stop the vibration from reaching the lens.

Oh okay I see what you're saying now. What I'm suggesting is to get a piece of lexan to replace the lens. There's no point in putting another lens ontop/in front of the existing less because yes it will shatter but also it won't fit in the flashlight and only serves to block light from passing.
