Maybe its just me, but as long as a weapon preforms well, i could really care less how it looks.
Although yeah, the XM 25 is pretty beefy, although its apparently doing good in combat.

Does the suppressor extend the inner 6.xx barrel, or does it simply sit in-front of the stock inner barrel?

The reason i ask is that i want to put ether a longer barrel on my WE G36C (maybe a G36K barrel) or alternatively attach a suppressor, however i also want to extend the length of the inner barrel for accuracy, not just cosmetics.

To answer : no, it's a pain in my ass but the silencer just here because I like the look and I find the G36C too short.
With the M4, SCAR, etc becoming Open Bolt we can soon expect to find inner barrels for 14.5" barrels but right now we only have 8", 9" for PDW and G36C and Ra-Tech 12" barrel for the K.
I'm converting it to G36KV so I'll have to wait for the 14.5".

That silencer is normally for a pistol (.45 ACP markings), I have a TAN Gemtech G5 suppressor but it's a QD on flashhider and can't be mounted on a C : not enough space between flashhider and handguard.

If you put a K barrel, that kind of suppressor should be enough to hide it entirely

Ok first problem and it's not a small one, the loading nozzle litterally shattered... so now I have a completely useless gun.
Hope WE will send me a new one...

Can I pick your brain for a few details?

- how many rounds through it?
- used in cold sub-zero temps? normal indoor? etc...
- keeping everything (i.e. seals/gas) lubed? or not?
- jamming prior to failure? or sudden catastrophic failure of the part?
- fracture of a part/tip/nozzle? or crack in the body portion of the nozzle?
- in your opinion...wear and tear failure? weak part failure? malfunction failure? of just plain bad luck?

I've seen the open bolt nozzle system work...but since it's basically an oversized GBB nozzle merged with a WA style bolt breaking it has always been my primary concern with that system.

Airsoftbuddy might have them for sale separately. Best of luck finding it...good news is that it'll be an easy swap in part.

Well, you said it had lower reliability then the XM8. No wonder the thing fell apart. XM8 was catching fire in testing. I don't know where you got your information from. AK-47 will forever be the most reliable.

Okidoki,

I have finally solved my problem of the servere wobbling of my 505mm long inner barrel! So this mod will certainly work with the stock inner barrel as well!
The problem is due to repeated assembling and disassembling of the inner barrel. The repeated screwing and unscrewing of setscrew part 125 caused to lose thread at the bottom of part 27. (look at your manuel guys)
So it caused my inner barrel assembly to wobble a lot!

There are 2 solutions for this: get a new part 27, since this will have new threads. But if you really want to be sure, you can even keep your part 27 but just get a longer setscrew to replace the stock setscrew (part 125)

You will have to find a setscrew of the type: M3 - 5mm! (on the picture: the bottom setscrew on is the new one)
The stock setscrew length is 3mm. So 5mm is perfect! Any longer than that and you will have to cut the setscrew to get it fit inside the upper receiver.

Here is explained visually what this mod actually does:
green is the inner barrel itself;
part 27 is the big thing as you can see;
the black block is the part that surrounds the inner barrel;
blue is the set screw that holds the inner barrel assembly in place;
the red shows where the thread has gone, causing the stock setscrew to sit lose!

Its a mystery why WE didnt used a longer setscrew!

Since I didnt know what kind I had to use, I bought a whole kit:
http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=22817
http://www.roundabouttoys.com/store/...rew-Set,-EB-K/

So, there ya go, with just a longer set screw you will have NO inner barrel wobble at all! Even when using a long inner barrel!

The failure is most probably due to a weak part, temp was a bit above 0. a few misfire then double feeds most probably due to nozzle beginning to break... then finally complete shattering.

Would you be keen on a one piece custom barrel that is longer than the C but shorter than the K? I'm playing with the idea of making a limited run of fluted and non fluted barrels for the C as well as the K, etc.

ps i used a 20inch inner barrel from ratech, used in the m14. So you have that option as well
