So for a hundred dollars or something, we could replace the internals with an open bolt system? Would the gun's upper receiver shell be any different? Would the bolt carrier need to be replaced?

hmmm, logically thinking the bolt itself will be different of course, since its no longer of use with the new open bolt design. The brass tube will disappear thus leaving room for a open bolt design like in the G39.
The bolt carrier, dunno about that....could be that they keep it, could be that it will be a different design specific for the bolt.
As long as the Scar doesnt lose its distinctive *KLING* sound, its good for me

Its all assumption

About the barrel and hop up.
Imo, it should be possible to change the big metal block that holds the barrel without changing the whole upper receiver.
Something like the design of the G36, but molded a bit different to fit the Scars upper receiver.

Can't wait for this kit to come out, so I can put a long 6.01mm inner barrel in it, like I did with my G39, so it will shoot hard

New gas mag leaky because of shipping ?
What a bunch of asses, every engineer know that their ridiculous seals won't hold anything in.
As for the G36 I sent them pictures of mine after my catastrophic failure they still haven't called...

It still far from perfect.

I did yesterday. Still no reply. They have a lot of long barrels for stuff like their m14. You would think that would fit no problem. I guess it depends on where the pin notches are. Are you getting the open bolt kit, riko?

I will definitely get the open bolt system with a long inner barrel to get as much fps as I can!

Preferably a 505mm Ratech 6.01 precision inner barrel that I already have installed in my G39....

And I would assume the open bolt scar also takes those type of inner barrel.

Open bolt guns take the same kind of barrel, hop-up rubber and rumor has it the same nozzle

the open bolt conversion kit is from WE.....doesnt matter wich store you buy it from, the kit itself is the same.

I'm thinking of getting one if i can find a broken scar since it comes with a spare trigger box and could fix all of the problem with the WE scar. Only thing though is if the open bolt mags for it are still good with the pdw since im going open bolt with it as well
