Silencers Silence.

Hence the name.

You can add in a longer barrel within the silencer if anything.

If a silencer is hiding an extended inner barrel, then accuracy may be improved.

Otherwise it's for looks.

This was pointed out to me a couple weeks ago, don't extend the inner barrel into the tracer extension it may not work the way it is intended.

Foam filled suppressors do suppress the report on the receiving end but only if you don't extend the inner barrel. Hollow suppressors are just for show though.

Silencers on airsoft is only for looks or hide longer inner barrels...the noise is from your gearbox, piston, etc...there have already been a thread on this topic....DO YOUR SeARCH....

Now on a real firearm, it is a different story...

Power up silencers for mp7 and mp9 will increase range and accuracy, or at least, is supposed to. Those silencers are made by angry gun. Those 2 are the only 2 avaiable on the market able do " increase accuracy" others are simply cosmetic and or hiding a longer barrel upfront

I might as well cover our bases on the opposite question, "Silencers, accuracy bad?".

The answer is no, an airsoft silencer will not negatively affect your accuracy in any way, will not induce any kind of effect on your BB's trajectory whatsoever. Also, unless you've installed it at an extreme angle or bent your barrel out of shape, a BB will never hit the foam on your silencer, even if you are moving your gun very fast.

A bit of airsoft trivia... At 400 feet per second, a BB will complete its journey through a 90mm silencer in 738 microseconds.

actually I've ended up with some BBs in my silencer on the g36.. not quite sure how, could be those really slow rounds at the top of the midcap when I fill it up, or could be something else... have to game it more to find out.

The only time a Silencer will impede your accuracy is if you use too long of one with a stock length barrel, then the bb will hop before it reaches the end of the Silencer, and will usually hit either the foam as Maciek mentioned, or the end of the silencer and send the bb's all over the place, or break em.

Use a silencer for a hidden inner barrel or use a shorter one just for looks.

Suppressors do make a huge sound difference on GBBs...and a slight difference on AEGs, but not much.

If anything, I say get one, take out the foam and fill it instead with white chalk, and then you get simulated muzzle-flash!*

I was genuinely excited to go home and fill my silencers with chalk. Now you've got me wondering if there's simple ways to get that effect without affecting the BB. I don't think there is one though.
I could always pick up one of those silencers that emit smoke though. Those are cool.
