CANSOFCOM uses EoTech 553.

Regular CF uses EoTech 552 with C8s - some guys acquire them for their C7's and C9's as well.

And there is guys who buy their own ACOG, etc

It is......... and it isn't. It beats having no mounting space. It COULD be better of course, but I've had no issues with them

You are right, it beats having no mounting space. But they could have done so much better with a RIS/RAS.

PEQ2 batterybox/model would be easier too find.

PAQ4s are more common, but PEQ2s are also issued in the Army to those in leadership positions(Section Commanders, Platoon Commanders, etc)

If you want the CANSOF look go for a PEQ15.

Gato, your C8 looks great.

Those C8s are still used, but mostly for Medics and the like. It's more of a PDW then anything else (it's also CRAZY light compared to anything elsE)

Yeah, that's where I may go "off" a bit, I may be gettign a Peq-15, if I do, I'll just use that. The AN/PAQ-4C are nice for completing a kit but a pain to get and not as versatile as the AN/PEQ-15

Comparing the three, there is a BIG difference. Take a look here
http://www.insighttechgear.com/products-paq4c.htm <- AN/PAQ-4C
http://www.insighttechgear.com/products-peq2a.htm <- AN/PEQ-2A
http://www.insighttechgear.com/products-atpial.htm <- AN/PEQ-15

While I'd like to stay as accurate as possible to a Canadian loadout, I'd like to also go for the most effective and efficient equiptment as it'll be used outside of airsoft as well

Glad to hear you like my rifle

For others, listen to Skeletor, he knows what he's talking about. Keep in mind the "role" you're playing, as having certain items may ruin the "impression". But that's also an area you get flexibility in for airsoft.

In Afghanistan(2008 on) I only saw the C8FTHBs and C8A3s in use, and most of the C8s I've seen in Canada were the A3s and FTHBs. Only seen a few of the original C8s in Canada in use by some LdSH pers and in use at schools(ie CFLAWC for Patrol Pathfinder).

I think the PRT might have had some older C8s in Afghanistan though. Foxhound, were the Medics with the original C8s you saw part of the Battle Group as the Medics in the Rifle Coys or the HSS Bison Amb crews?

TF1-10 BG our Medics had them.

Attached to the Rifle Coys, I believe. Though they seemed to rotate through working the UMS and patrols. I'm not 100% how their organization worked. In any case they were in the Platoon Houses/COPs with us.

I have numerous photos, vector images and other "drawings" of them somewhere on a USB stick, can't guarantee I'll be able to find them

I've been told that depending on who I deal with for engravings, I should be prepared to buy a few bodies.
