KWA M4

Im in the process of buying a KWA M4 and I am wondering If I get the regular m4 can I change it to a S-system m4? And say i get the S-system m4 can change it to the regular m4 and back and fourth if I have the parts need of course Can I change them back and fourth, Can this be done?.Thx

I dont think you can, I believe the M4 S-system receiver is different then a standard flat top reciever

I'm pretty sure the problem only arises if you have an S-system to start with. If you have a regular m4 and wish to make it an S-System, you would not need a different receiver.

The 'S-System' is just the SIR rail. You can get the rail itself (not the TM one) by itself. ICS, Samurai, and some Chinacrap make it. Alternatively, you can get the real steel ARMS one.

Oh great because right now I dont like the way the S-system looks and I dont need all those rails. I have another question I plan to attach a silencer and some kind of optics, do I need a s-system for that or can I mount these two things on the regular m4, Like if I take off the carry handle/sights is there a rail under there for mounting optics. As you might of guessed im new to armalites, until now ive been a Ak man, thx for the help and advice.

get the d boys one its pictured in my coustom gun in my sig it is cheep and the upper part is full metal and the lower is plastic expect the rails are metal they hold up nice and the rails can be moved around to acomadate diffrent things. cheep and nice and very sturdy.

You're probably not interested anymore, but KWA makes a S-System.

Silencer screws onto the end of the outer barrel, has nothing to do with rails. As for optics, KWA ARs are flat tops. The carrying handle comes off, you can see the two giant knobs on the side. Underneath is a standard 20mm rail.

I have one and all you'd need is like Groombug mentioned, the SIR rail, and some flip up rear sight....Man this thing is F@#K'n awesome! I will never sell it!

One thing I found out about my KWA M4 is that the sizing is a bit off (only a couple of mm) but installing a RIS or RAS meant for CA or TM M4's is a bit of a pain, you have to fight with it a bit and do a bit of grinding to make the RIS or RAS fit. Other than that, this gun is absolutely terrific and I will also never part with it.

Well, if one wants to talk about sizing, apparently the body pin hole through the mechbox is a bit off from TM-standard. In the unlikely (but possible) event of cracking a KWA mechbox, the best option would be to contact KWA for a replacement.

Actually found a thread/review from another forum where guys have successfully dropped the KWA mechbox into other bodies from hurricane, G&G, TM. The one they had problems with was a Classic Army lower receiver.
