WE PX4 Shooting low FPS

Hey guys,

have a "WE" PX4 and have had good luck with it so far...however, it fires at about 280 FPS. I get about 100 feet with it, but it is slow getting out there. I have a friend with a KWC Beretta and it rocks it out at 370 FPS. Both of us are using propane.

So, is there something I am overlooking? Am I not charging my Mags enough? Should I be looking at a mod/upgrade? Did I just buy a Shite gun???

Thanks

280 FPS Is what you want on a handgun. You should always carry a low velocity gun on you because you don't want to be lighting people up with high velocity at a close range. The gun comes at that FPS, and you friends KSC is probably using C02. 280 is enough for a handgun and you shouldn't need anything higher. Pistols are used for CQB anyways. Get a DMR if you really want some range.

Good to know. Should I be telling my beretta buddy that he needs to turn down his gun somehow?

If I were to look into a DMR, is there something you recommend? Was looking at the G&P M14 DMR...any thoughts???

He's probably using CO2, not propane.

280 is fairly standard for pistols, why would you even want 370?

What he means to say is that the other friend's gun is shooting hotter because of CO2, and not propane.

Styrak meant the Beretta guy was probably using CO2.

280 is a common/normal velocity for a pistol on propane.

Nope, the Beretta guy is using propane...even used my tank that I was using to fill my PX4 mags. Odd how he's burning 370. I have spoken with him and he says that his pistola is capable of turning the velocity down??? ...never heard of that.

Thanks for the info guys.

Are you sure he's using 0.20 BBs as well? Does he have a bunch if internal upgrades?

Pretty sure it's an out-of-the-box stock pistol. (Full auto Beretta). New player...and he has no clue about doing mods and upgrades. I thought it was unusually high. He ordered it from Revolution Airsoft.

Ah. That make a little more sense. Stock KWA pistols shoot between 330 and 350. And with an upgraded release valve (which Revolution probably put in), 370 could make sense.

The G&P M14 DMR would be a good choice if you want to use it out of the box.
I personally prefer the CYMA M14. It's in no way better, but it was super cheap and had plenty of room for upgrades. I'm only keeping about 40% of it stock, so bad parts are going out anyway. I'm also using the SOCOM version. I don't think a 500cm barrel is necessary.

And does anybody know a way to make a KWA HK45 shoot less hot? mine shoots around 340, and I think that's too much for a pistol. I can find high powered valves, but no lower powered ones. I also don't think duster will work to well with the heavy metal slide.
Any Ideas?

Mine shot 280 out of the box as well, it's normal. I would rather have it shoot a little low out of the box than higher so I don't have to worry about reducing the velocity after I put in upgrades like a tight bore barrel.
