JG MP5-A5 Gun Tech

Hey guys was wondering what kind of upgrades or what parts you kept stock in order to perform up to par with your opponents.

Specificity

- Upgrading it to make it better than stock version
- What durable parts to use to make it last
- Where you got your upgrades for it

Generally what upgrades did you do to your JG MP5 that made it last longer so your parts don't die out on you in a game.

Special note*
No not aiming to make it a supreme firepower gun, just wanted it to perform well since I am getting a new JG MP5 for a low price, might as well add in a few upgrades, not a total overhaul mind you but just something to keep it going for a long time

Metal bushings and a shim job are a must.
Although I'm not quite sure what you are asking, try to be more specific.

for more accuracy, get an M4 barrel and slide it down the silencer.

Metal bushings
Sorbothane
Regrease/Shim

If u want more FPS put a better spring in
If u want more accuracy put a tightbore in

I am assuming don't upgrade the motor and gearbox until it busts?

Keep it simple, if you want more complex its probably best to start from a better brand of gun like G&P or something.

Personally MP5's should only be CQB guns, if you want higher fps, better accuracy, etc. etc. you should get a gun that in real steel is more accurate and longer ranged. The only way to get a longer barrel is to hide it under a silencer which I think looks like crap on an MP5 (thats what the SD versions are for.)

If its a JG then it should be shooting at least 350fps out of the box, keep it like that till something breaks. From what you are asking and how you are asking it it would seem you are very new to airsoft. Highly upgraded guns in the hands of new people is frowned upon by many. Its like giving a Ferrari to someone who just got their license, their skill is far too low to utilize the performance, its not the greatest thing to learn on, and it can be more dangerous for other drivers (or airsofters.)

Your first half of the paragraph was helpful though the last paragraph I would have to disagree. No I am not those power hungry noobs who have no sense in how guns work. To me that paragraph almost sounds like an insult.

What I wanted to know was what parts to upgrade or keep stock, so that when my parts do break I know what to replace it with. Would you rather not have me ask and end up pouring in parts that would create too much firepower for my own good? Obviously not, thats why I asked here first for those experienced with their JG MP5s to tell me if they kept it stock or upgraded certain parts to keep it healthy and clean.

Got the parts on the way, going to replace/upgrade the motor and gearbox when the stock fully dies on me

Okay yay JG MP5A5 came

Now I watched the mechbox.com video of how to take apart the MP5

I got everything down except opening the main body

They say push the front barrel slightly forward in order to be able to open the main body but my front barrel is not budging at all

I've put several thousand rounds through my JG MP5 just plinking. It's completely stock inside. right now. It's been gamed one in someone else's hands, and performed admirably.

However, it's developed a slight sound it didn't have before. I tried adjusting the motor and that's not doing it. So once I install the metal upper receiver I got for it, I'm going to crack open the mechbox and give it some metal bushings and inspect for wear. Unless there's something broken or worn, I don't think I'll replace anything else.


Maybe you missed a step / screw to loosen the front end? I replaced my stock front end wiht a CA metal one, and the old one came off without issue.

Took every screw out and the front barrel won't budge at all arrgghh
