Systema PTW.

Seriously D-boys are not the best quality. And ARES isn't the best if only cause it only has okay parts and if they break it can be very hard to source replacements.

First you need to decide what's your budget
Second, what style of gun you like

After this, ask again.

DBoys will do... in a serious pinch, I've found, but with that budget you can do a fair bit better these days. I can't say where, but if you get age verified there are a lot of options opened up to you, and we can tell you where best to go.

Can't speak for the Ares, as I've never owned or fired one, much less that specific model. I did handle one of their G36Cs recently, and externally at least it seemed fairly nice, but that's all I can attest to.

I don't mean to sound like a complete prick, but both those guns are Terribad, you might be lucky and have them running for a while but they are made by companies who have really low quality control.

Some people say systema or die or what not, they aren't great either, they still break down, and ESP if your new and spend 1.8k on one and have them break on you within a few months, trust me, I know this I have 2 friends who both got PTWs as their first guns.

Brands like Tokyo marui aren't too common in country but they are deffinately something to consider, their guns are quite cheap, and their quality is outstanding.

Google G&P and King Arms. Reputable brands, great quality for the price range, and don't need much out of box tuning

The advice I always give to people is to first decide on what model of gun you want, i.e. G36/M4/AK
and then decide on the brand. Once you've decided the model it makes the process easier. It helps to consider
the different features of each model.

I agree with Curo in that you should go with a King Arms or WE M4 AEG. They're both about $250, great out of the box quality, and really easy to upgrade. Personally I would go with the WE M4 AEG, mainly because I own one and they are super easy to upgrade (fully TM compatible). I have mine done to the tits now with Lonex internals and its a monster if a gun. Owned it for a year now and put well over 10,000 rounds through it and I just now stripped a spur gear. Comes to show what you can get out of them.

I have both a 2010 and 2012 ares g36k and g36c and the only issue I've ever had was a torn hop up( I dived into a trench and got dirt in the hop up) ares g36s are their best model in my opinion.
The only thing I don't like is that some parts are proprietary so they will be hard to find if they break.

- For M4 starter go King Arms ($250 - $300)
- If you want the best get a Systema or Fight Club Custom ($1900 - $2500)

- For a G36 starter go CA or something similar.
- For the best, try and find an old Star (not Ares), and upgrade it.

Actually, JG G36c are awesome for the price. If you can find a gen 4, it's one of the best G36 available, and the other gens are great if you plan on upgrading, but not the best out of the box compared to CA.

JG G36c old gen is nearly 100% compatible TM, except for the hop-up unit, mag well and nozzle (if you swap the three parts for TM parts, it's now 100% compatible).

But as everyone said, you can compare G36c's to M4s, because the M4 platform has everything from wal-mart AEGs to batshit insane custom PTW.
