CA G36 Flash Hider how to remove it?

hi

question I have a Ca g36 I want to remove the flash hider

looking at the exploder diagram it does not show a set screw on the flash hider holding it in

so how does one remover said part yes I used the search function did the heat gun trick still will not move

tips ideas ect

Honest to God, I was never able to get mine off. It's suppose to twist off... I swear that thing was welded in place with the Fury of God.

thanks but I'm I going to have to buy something like this G&P G36 Handguard With Bipod And Barrel Set just to be able to remove the flash hider:banghead:

mainly looking to put a silencer on it and ideas if a Mad Bull Gemtech HALO Silencer will fit over a CA G36 flash hider

Mine was CCW, never had issues removing it.

I went to the point of holding it in a vice and trying to get it off.. I stopped just short of damaging the finish. Never did get it off.

Same problem here. I thought I read somewhere that it was glued on, and that by heating it up (via lighter or similar method) you could melt the glue enough so that it could be twisted off. Of course I never actually tried this... seemed like something better left for someone else to try first and then attempt after reported success.

boil water, then dunk flashhider/end of barrel into the water. Best way.

my classic army had a little set screw to undo other than that it was simple to get off

Well today I removed the barrel. Place the flash hider in boiling water for around 10 mins put it in a vice and well lets just say the flash hider is still on the barrel.

so I guess I will need to buy a new barrel if i want a silencer

does anyone know if a Mad Bull Gemtech HALO Silencer will fit over a CA G36 flash hider

oh well I guess I will just remove the orange paint then

If it's just because of the paint that you wanted to remove it, CA paint is really easy to remove and the flash hider will look like new as if it never had any...

I take it that this is American stock since it has orange paint.

I had this problem as well with many US guns, that the people who apply the orange paint for some reason put epoxy or jb weld in with the threads as well afterwards to overly conform to the US gun laws that the orange tip cannot be removed...

Eventually I had to saw and dremel my G36 flashider completely in half and pry the two halves apart in vice had to buy a brand flashhider in the end.

I'm curious though, if you do buy a new barrel set, I would like to purchase your old CA one if possible. I have a G36 project that needs one to complete, stuck flashider or otherwise.

Take a heat gun and heat the tip, then try to get it off.

A heatgun will do nothing if it's jb welded on like mine was but definetely go ahead and try. Don't worry about the finish on the metal, it can always be repainted.

CA guns only have a painted-on orange tip. Furniture varnish remover will easily get rid of it and leave the undercoat unscated...
