seeing WE making AEGs reminds me of VFC making GBBRs. They're both great companies and the products they specialize in are amazing, but crossing over to a field that is unknown with said company will cause some problems and a feeling that they should stic with what they know best. So unless WE is creating an AEG that hasn't been done before, it'll be a waste of time.

+1!

Why bother about yet another m4 when you could buy some other "better ones" that are easier to upgrade!!!

So, all it does is release the spring tension when put to safe, so that the next show takes a little longer once the trigger is pulled..?
Sounds great to me.

Why would it take longer? If you gun is not broken, it should already be in the same spot when shooting SEMI. On Auto, 1/10 of a second won't make a difference.

It's there to relieve tension on the spring when not in use. I'm not sure exactly what the purpose is for this, but if I recall correctly it is to alliviate some of the stress on the mechbox and therefore assist in increasing the lifespan of the gun. There are probably other uses, but that one sticks out most in my mind. I know that there are some mods out there to do this for other AEGs.

As ThunderCactus said in another thread, you can leave a spring fully compressed for more than half a year and only lose 4fps, so the spring release isn't that useful for the regular players.

For gun doctors it is rather nice though, because you can release the spring before going into the gun.

There's an evike review video on YouTube now and it seems to be a decently made AEG. They claim it is fully TM compatible, so WE is finally on my radar now.

Yep, I agree that these guns won't sell much, for that price, go king arms or G&P!

Oh, and the spring release, it allows you to remove stress on the gearbox and by that, opening the gearbox is easier!

WE is notorous for the use of low grade pot metal which make their products stop functioning normally after only brief use. The extra money + effort afterwards has become a nightmare for many GBB and pistol airsofters.

So no thanks.

Holy shit ! M4A1 ? This is what I call revolution in airsoft people !

IMO, they should improve their GBBR parts and stick to that category. As for what Sawttiger said, it's true. On the first day that I had my WE M4, I tried to knock the roll pin of the trigger guard out of it's hole. Guess what ... without any outstanding use of force, managed to break off a piece of the lower receiver where the roll pin goes in.

I was not impressed with WE's low grade metal they used ...

I'm under the supervision of 10 WE GBBRs, have owned one, and have seen used heavily for the past three years... The only thing I've seen break from regular use was an upper receiver: From transport to and from a game.

WE doesn't use the greatest materials, but as far as stock guns go, they are hard to break (externally) from regular use.

That being said, there are already other gun manufacturers in that price bracket with superior guns.

I am not a fan of the idea of the gun dropping the piston when I hit safe. This means if the gun was on the last tooth of the piston pull, it could fire a BB when it drops to safe, unless they've changed the way the tappet plate works.

EDIT: Wtf, "Navy Seal" trades? That's wetarded.

WE-Tech is one of the world's leading Airsoft Gun manufacturers known for their precision, high quality...
Umm... since when? They make decent GBBRs that are great upgrade platforms for RA-Tech parts. Otherwise, I've yet to see anything "precision, high quality" coming out of WE.

On the plus side, 380~400 FPS means they can be legally imported into Canada without modification under the new CBSA regulations.
