Ugh. The clear version has a plastic gearbox, plastic internals, even plastic mag release. Biggest waste of $200 EVER. You'll regret it.

I purchased the King arms version, same body as the cyma, metal upper, plastic lower and plastic wood that looks like the real thing. King arms gearbox inside. Nice gun, looks good, easy to use (once you get used to the old style magwell), shoots very straight. For some reason the fps really went up the second time I used it? RPS could be faster, planning on converting to dean cause it as huge connectors on the battery at the moment. Wiring is very small from the battery to the gearbox, will have to change that. Very easy to shoot from the hip and lines up instinctively from the shoulder. Selector switch is unique, one button safe/fire another button semi/auto, make sure the selectors are pushed all the way into position or the gun wont fire. Got it for 300$ + tax and shipping. Great gun, I love it and everyone who tries it like it, in fact three of my friends got one from the same retailer Fps was 345 the first day, one week later and one recharge of the battery fps 380? Shoots very consistently, never varies by more then a few fps between shots.

Just received my Cyma Thompson;

What is the biggest battery you can put in the stock? Seem like only mini would fit but there are a bigger compartment filled with foam just on top... I don't have a large battery to test the fit that compartment.

Also will removing the foam compromise the solidity of the stock?

You need to remove the foam. Just probe it with a jamming rod and pull it back

2 different versions. CT version is mostly plastic, with plastic gears. Not worth it.

And will break in a week (at most)... Anyway this is an airsoft site, not soft air.
