MP5 Parts Compatibility questions

HI Everyone

I have some questions on parts compatibility of MP5s for those out there with MP5 knowledge/experience.
I picked up an G&G mp5 body recently that i want to build up. I have g&p gearbox shell im going to put into it.
Only issue is the body is missing some parts, notably the selector switch.
I found one from Cyma at Toronto airsoft, and im wondering if this will work the g&g body?

https://www.torontoairsoft.com/CYMA-...et_p_3024.html

Also, if it is compatible, i noted that the g&g selector plate appears to be different then the marui design. which one would i need to use?

Marui:

G&G:

Thanks

Buy g&g parts because TM and CA do not work with each other nor with G&G.

The gearbox shell and the body of g&g mp5's are proprietary.

From my own experience, classic Army and cyma are only ones compatible with each other. That's it. TM and CERTAIN cyma parts will fit e.g. full stock. And even then you gotta file a bit or push REAL hard to get it on the receiver.

Save yourself the headache and get same brand parts.

+1 to what RainyEyes said.

I know the G&G mp5 quite well actually. And a regular gearbox shell will work in it. (I fitted a G&P one in mine a few months back) However, to do so, you'll have to mill the top 5mm ridge off the gearbox for it to fit in the G&G body.
Other than that, selector, nozzle, and hopup unit are all proprietary. You can still fit one of those purple alu nozzles in it, from SHS/Ace1arms though. but you'll need to grind down the tappet plate front to properly match/seal it to the hop up unit.

Also, G&G discontinued support for their mp5s, so no luck getting parrts directly from them....

If I was you, I would get a old cansoft G&G mp5, and put the body on it. Cheapest way to get it running imo.

Is that speaking from personal experience? Because usually they have great aftermarket support. And they're re-releasing their MP5 line with ETU's.

Yep, tried to get parts from them last summer. They told me that i was SOL...

If they are relaunching them great. Might be different now, hopefully retrofit-able.

Something similar happened to me and I swear I am about to abandon the project. The help in the forums is very specialized, but I still think I am lacking.

However, I have the collaboration of the boys who work with me and my poor grandfather who did not stop bothering him, he recommended that I review physical manuals and the one who approached more what he wanted is the Seoplanner that luckily has diagrams very well explained and with the added value of recommending spare parts that do not have to be original.
