what type of connector / wiring are you using for your sticks battery vs large? If it's the same set of wires and connectors i'm at a loss to explain why.

Well for the sticks it's the small type connector, and large for the large. My charger has an adaptor (becasue it's "normal" adapter is the large), so it includes the large-to-small adapter. I wondered if that was the problem, but I really can't see anything wrong with it. It's just two wires with different sized connections on each end.

The charger also came with the adapter that has the connection to the battery on one end, and alligator clips on the other. Maybe I'll give that a try.

Thatnks for the help thus far!

Get one of these. Last charger you'll ever buy, does everything to anything.

Holy jesus %#@ that does do everything. Can it charge a car battery? Where did you get that and how much.
*drool*

Did you build your own connectors and wires or did you buy them? When I bought a set of connectors for my charger from the RC shop the +ve and -ve were leads incorrectly installed on the mini tamiya. I never noticed until i was reverse charging my batteries. Fortunately my 'smart' charger didn't actually put any charge into the pack.

I can't see whatever picture or link you have there Tank.

No, I didn't wire it myself. I'll take a closer look at it though. The adapter came in the box with the charger.

So, I forget who said it, but it was that the neg/pos was reversed on my charger's small-type adapter. Switched it around, and it works fine.

Even fixed the battery I thought was gone. A quick soldering job, and a good charge, and it's working as well.

Man, I love this community!

Yeah well, got a custom battery with my custom m4 body today. Not only will it not charge, but the charger doesn't even recognize a battery is connected at all. Time to do some soldering/multimetering.

Triton looks like a good charger, but Googling it, it looks like you need to learn a little bit about its features and the batteries you're charging in order to get the best performance - you can tweak it, but you can also misset it and f**k your batteries up (like I said, Google it you'll see RC car forums talking about it).

Have you checked the polarity of the battery? I will bet you its a polarity issue. Check the polarity of the charger and the connectors before you connect another battery up.

Triton is discon.

Replaced by Triton 2, wich can do higher charge rates, and larger packs.

It also has a backlit screen now.

There is an auto detect mode where you only have to select the chemistry of your pack (Ni-Cd, Ni-Mh, Lead-acid, Li-ion, Li-Po)

Yes it will charge a car battery in about 7 hours. (assuming a mid range battery)

Only drawback is that you need an external power supply, regulating 11v-15v DC

So the Triton is DC only?
