Been out for 4 years. What'd I miss?

Been out of airsoft for a while. My local group kinda fell apart after many of our members became busy with family commitments, etc. I'm getting into real steel now and it has sparked my interest in airsoft again.

Anyone willing to catch me up on what's new in gear and guns? When I left GBB rifles were gaining popularity fast. I had a couple KWA MP9s that I loved dearly...

KWA partnered up with KRISS and started making a vector. Then they stopped making the vector. Then they stopped making the mags.
Now KRISS is partnered with Krytac and they're gonna be making an AEG vector.
Facebook banned the sale of airsoft guns.
A few people were publicly flogged.
That's about it.

As long as the gun is over 366fps on .20s, states it on the box/MFG website/whatever
But the annoyance of shipping, customs, and duty still doesn't make it worth it.

And because the rules are laid out properly and anyone could import, prices dropped to a normal level. It's not much cheaper to self-import unless you want something really exotic.

Also if Magpul was/is of any interest to you, they split from PTS so no more airsoft pmags or magpul-liscenced airsoft gear. If you want Magpul furniture you have to buy real steel, or buy knock-offs.

If you want to see the biggest thing to happen in airsoft in the past 4 years... Go to Youtube and look up "Rest in Peace Kid"
(Please don't turn this into a shitstorm guys, I just want OP to see it)

Also, double barrel pistols are becoming widespread thanks to WE.
TM made an AA12.
And there are 99999 new M4's out.

Hehe....yes now an each year going forward I'm sure. It is a great platform. I just bought a KJW 10/22 (KC-02). Wanted something in gas blowback. Previously I was more into running and gunning. Did the SMG and M4 thing already...figure I will try a bit more conservative role. Doesn't hurt that I've got the RS version as well.

@grimreefer: Good choice, and welcome to the club

Hop on over here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/594291890586119/

We got lots of info and community support available. (And as always, read the FAQ first)

As adamferris posted, his stocks are available there too and you can see samples of his work, which seems to be awesome.

There's an ASC thread for the KC as well. (It's under 10/22)

Cheers!

Some guy turned airsoft guns into paintball guns (hose and tank). Their performance isn't bad, but they're getting banned everywhere because they can't behave and none of the fields understand them.

Airsoft guns started out this way back in the 80s, then TM made the AEG and removed the bulky air tank systems. It's old tech coming back again.....
