DIY Viper Hood (Compact ghillie)

In this pretty hot saturday (about 32-35 celcius), I decided I would stay home doing simple stuff. And with a game coming where that might come in handy, I tough: hey, time to DIY some shit!

So here I present you the poor man's compact ghillie (Viper Hood style). See the original idea: http://www.tacticalconcealment.com/pd-super-viper.cfm

I play as recce/dmr. A full ghillie would make moving harder rather than easier, be hotter, and be overkill. For me, it's the right balance of ease of movement and concealment.
Plus I can do something similar myself. For an actual military sniper, Tactical Concealement's solution is totally worth it. But for me... not so much. I am NOT doing a replica, however yes, I do draw a lot of inspiration from this product.

What you need:
- VooDoo Tactical Sniper Tog
- Paracord
- Ghillie garnish or tinted burlap
- Bungee cord
- Fastex
and scissors and all that shit...

(To be continued)

Oh shit forgot it totally lol... but it's finished now. My computer is down, I'm buying parts to build a new PC this weekend... not this weekend, maybe the next one if I'm lucky I'll finish that write up.

Thanks for the reminder

Now that I have the place to build one, I will probably make one too when I get the time.
I'll redo my ghillie suit too.

Really dude! Two years later!!!

Man did it ever turn out well..I might be retarded but what materials did you use for the outside portion? Burlap? Think i read that from the original post

I have zero knowledge about ghillie suits but this...this interests me...I really like how it rolls up and how you shortened it.

Edit: I cant find these voodoo tog's anywhere!

Back then I purchased it at Surplus Pont Rouge in Quebec city but it's out of stock right now. It's here (http://shop.vtarmynavy.com/lightweig...tog-p8502.aspx) and googl'ing I get quite a few hits so I'm sure you'd be able to find it! Or just start by asking your local stores. It's still in their 2014 catalog ( http://voodootactical.majorsurplus.com/vt_2014.zip ) so they should be able to get it for you.

We took a short time to take pics during a recent team training.

Thanks to my teammate Jowade for the pics!
