My WE Colt 1911 broken

Hi everyone,

I got an WE 1911, it's working very well for 01 year, but now it has a broken part (point at the picture below), the gun still fire very well, blow back still good, not a problem, but I can not set the gun into safety (maybe caused by this broken part?). I do not know this part if whether I can find in some shops or not, you guys can give me some advice?

here are pictures...

Thank you guys!

Does the safety move but not stay engaged? or does it not move at all?

It looks like he dropped the gun and damaged that tubular structure which houses a spring-loaded pin. That probably then caused the pin to jam against the thumb safety, where normally it would move with the safety.

Wow, it looks like the rear of the plunger tube melted??? Or got smashed flat. Where's the safety plunger? I'm having a hard time making out what happened in that pic.

Either way, it's apparent the problem lays with the plunger tube. I haven't seen any replacement ones, but the WE 1911's plunger tube/safety lock plunger/slide stop plunger assembly is built like a real 1911, although I'm not sure about the sizing being 1:1. If I had to fix it, I'd try with real steel parts, but I see you're in Vietnam, so I'm not sure about the availability of those parts to you.

Otherwise you'd have to remove it (perhaps forcefully) and try to straighten it out yourself somehow, or build a jury rigged replacement part.

DarkAngel on these forums has a WE parts connection. I don't know if he'll ship to Vietnam, though..

LOL, looks like the gun was dropped or impacted
as Saint said. WE metal is soft as you can see, so
all you need to do is take apart the gun. Or pry
out the safties, drill a small hole into the blob to
free your pin. If it gets damaged by the drilling,
buy a Nineball plunger pin for TM.

Other option is sourcing the entire piece which
I believe is removable on TM, but not sure on
the WE, Saint?

Good luck

Removable, but dunno about sourcing a spare. Might be easier just to carry it hammer down from now on.

Drake: Thanks for your advise, it got smashed flat, so the safety is jammed. you are right, it's hardly to find any replacement part in VN, but this WE part can be removed out easily, and I will bring it to some turners who can make a new one from my broken sample.

Kos: I will PM DarkAngel, maybe......

Safx, Saint: thank you all guys.

Next time I will go to Thailand for a week, you guys know some airsoft-shops in Thai?

Just because it's metal, doesn't mean it's invincible...
