Finished grinding down the bump front and installing the VAS Shroud. Still need to pick up the Contour mount from buddy Milan. I want to get another V-lite... D:

Where are you guys getting V-Lites from in Canada? Also does anyone have a BASE Jump in Vancouver that I could try on for sizing. I think I could go with either the M/L or L/XL but not sure what I should get.

Anything IR is ITAR controlled - period.
You are always going to pay +$20 shipping for stuff outside of Canada. Best to put together a group buy to ease the cost of international shipping.

The more lites on the order the more likely it will convince a reluctant dealer the sale is worth it...usually but not always. You should be able to get anything in either green, red or blue provided they're in stock (most places on back-order so it's a current problem) as they're not ITAR and the dealers know this. Just call them up, be polite and ask nicely, just don't even think about asking for anything IR and you should be ok. 'Fly

Here's what I did. I bought the KwikSteel JB Weld putty. Removed all the cushions inside the helmet. Covered the holes on the top from the inside for the putty to sit on. Placed it all on 8 holes, waited it to dry and then sand. The hardest part was the front shroud to remove. Grinding the shit took me about 1 hour. After you grind it, there will be hollow holes. Grab tape and place it inside the helmet for the putty to sit on to cover the holes. After that's done, use the putty and cover the hollow holes, then cover the "FAST" logo and letters. Then again, sand the shit. Drill holes, and place any NVG shroud you want. And paint. You could probably do this in a day. Took me a while cause I didn't have the patience to hold a dremel to grind the front shroud for an hour ish. Last edited by Shirley; August 31st, 2011 at 14:06.. |
