"How It's Made" ICS AEG Gun Factory - Cool Video

Thought some of you would find this video on how they make AEG's from start to finish in the ICS factory in Taiwan.

Thanks. After taking so many apart, I found that interesting.

Very fascinating!
This video left me wondering though... Who the heck is ICS and why haven't I heard of them before if they're "the top airsoft brand" or whatever?
O.o

ICS is far from a top brand, but its been around for a long time. It was considered good a decade ago when CA was also "good" and everyone was still crazy about creaky ass TMs.

TM has some of the best internals on the market but I'll never be caught buying one. There's too much appeal for steel / metal externals and working on the internals to make them perform like God's tits is just so gratifying. >.>

Back in the day, ICS was a gun you would buy if no other company was making the model you wanted, or if you were going to gut it for the body anyway, or if you bought it at a paintball shop for a (relatively) obscene mark up.
They came up with some so-so gimmicks that never worked right (looking at you, quasi-mechanical MP5 burst mode), a split-gearbox that made sense for collectors but not skirmishable guns, and were generally a source of headaches.
Still, a lot of their externals were quite good (for the time, possibly still now) and were selectively sought after for that reason.
It was the only way to get an MP5 with a steel receiver/ parts for a long time, for example (excluding fancy people who could affor TW5s).

And I'll chime in on the CA hate; CAs that were "good" back in the day are still "good" today. They were a very different company.

Is that the normal process for making the gears in an AEG?!

My ICS M4 was the first aeg I bought back in 2005, yes I still have it and yes it still works! Still one of my favorite toys, it's a toss up between that and my PTW. I never had issues with my ICS. Mind you it has Systema gears and the ICS MA56 upper set in it.
