Underarmour

I know some posts have been made previously about the performance of underarmour. Just thought I would share my latest experience wearing it. I wear it for my football league - we are in the city championships next weekend. Last week I wore it for a game at night. The temperature was -8 degrees celsius. All I wore was the underarmour - pants and longsleeved turtle neck - with my jersey and a pair of shorts, and I was toasty warm the entire 2.5 hours I was outside. Once again, I was very impressed with the performance of my underarmour!

I've played in snow in it and stayed warm with just that and a t-shirt under my pads man. Great stuff, I swear by it now. I'm getting some of the tactical line for when I'm on ex.

Any specific places you can buy it? I had long johns for when I played outdoor hockey last year (we played in -30 one night, and I was freezing my ass off, sweat froze to my back). Can I get them at any sports stores?

Thanks!

Just about any sports store will have them, but they might not have the tactical line.

SportsCheck I know has it.

I bought my TurfGear long-sleeved shirt at SportCheck a while back and it's fan-tan-diddly-astic. One of the best investments I've made in this sport. I'll have to get some warmer stuff for winter.

UA is expensive as hell
but, there are other brands of cheaper stuff that is made from the same material. like Shuridys said, Sportcheck, the rack has UA and other brands.
good stuff though

Dave's Army Surplus baby - all the cool kids shop there. They got the Military colors too.

I just wear a regular lightwieght fall jacket and snowboard pants with my winterwhites overtop of it all for winter games. Has never failed me, even down to -30 degrees. Too bad my battery failed at that temperature.

For cold games with no or little snow, i have Olive Drab fall/cold weather canadian gear that is very warm and has 3 different liners of varying warmths to pull out of the jacket to go with the appropriate temperatures.

I got mine awhile ago with a group order in the army, used it on a couple ex's and one airsoft game. I'm not used to wearing really tight clothing though. Nice to have though, I found it kinda itchy for some reason when I just started to wear it.

I purchased a black UA Cold Gear mockneck shirt off ebay for around $36 CDN, including shipping. It's expensive, but considerably cheaper than Sportchek, I think. Those tend to run for ~$50CDN before taxes.

Anyhoo, I just got back from a jog in the semi-cool weather and it kept me nice and toasty.

You wear a t-shirt under your pants?

Um, TurfGear is a type of Under Armour. It's HeatGear with reinforced sleeves; I figured it would help cushion impacts better. Keeps me cool but it sure as hell don't cut down on ouch factor.

Yep, they don't have tactical at sportchek or any other store I've checked out. I got my UA tactical off Ebay for about $40.

The advantage of UA over layers of other cold weather clothing, is the encumbrance factor. UA gives you the heat and warmth of multi-layers of cold weather clothing but not the weight or bulkiness. That is why I like it!

The Turf Gear is made for artificial turf (football, baseball) to help protect players from getting turf burn. It is not made for impact but is supposed to work similarily to a leather jacket on a guy crashing a motorbike - help you slide rather than leaving half your skin on the ground.

I never use Under Armour. I'm a goaltender, and my trusty t-shirt and sweats combination has never failed
