Thanks. So far I've run up to 15km without being exhausted... at that point when I stop, it's just because I got bored and want to do something else of my free time, LOL. 5km and under, I do around 5:20min/km, over 5km I average about 6:15min per km. It's more short distances (sprints) that I have an issue with, so for the beep test I'll definitely have to work on that.

Either way I'm not going for combat arms at all, but even then I definitely do NOT want to be "the slow one".

Been lifting weights/running consistently since I was 14 and playing a variety sports for the majority of my life so these basic tests aren't that hard. Those basic tests look easily passable if your in half decent shape. In my experience a lot of "Milsim" players could stand to lose some weight. Its no wonder a lot of them have a hard time making it through a 24 hour game pushing over 200 lbs of fat plus all the gear. These JTF2/CSOR fitness levels now these are really high standards and a good challenge from level 4-7.

Everything in that PDF is a MINIMUM. You will be expected to do MUCH more than that if you want to succeed and excel.

Basic training (BMQ and SQ), like any goal, should not just be just about completing it, it should be about doing the best you can.

You can expect a morning run at least twice a week as morning PT. More if the course officer is a runner (all mine were) and less if they are meat heads. Meat heads will give you more ruck marches, and will often waive the bus transports so you can ruck or march to the range exercises and back.

EDIT - oh yes..on course your forced marches won't be on nice flat roads like most of the BFTs are once you are at your unit. If you are on course at LFCA TC Meaford, you will learn the name WARNER HILL

I meet the JTF2 Lvl7 advanced standard for strength very very easely. I can even surpass it. As for cardio, I don't think so.

Yeah, in those conditions, I guess I would just meet lvl7 and not surpass it.

Thanks @tygr701, that's even better. I'll print that.

EDIT: Even better. The complete JTF2 fitness manual: https://www.cfpsa.com/en/AboutUs/PSP...nual%20ENG.pdf

Sick! Thanks Conker I've been looking for that forever. I have the CSOR one but not the JTF2 fitness guide.

Yes, BFT is what you will do in Army units, and a requirement for deployment. Navy and Air Force does the express test for their yearly PT test.
My mistake, I was thinking shuttle run for some reason. Not sure how I mixed those two up.

I do 7.9k (measured) in about 28 minutes. 20m swim and tread water are no problem. Don't know about grip, but apparently I should lose a LOT of weight though.

As an 18 year young adult, I think I am quite healthy. Since university started, I've been slacking on going to the gym, but have been picking it up the past 2 weeks. It is now my personal goal to be at level 4, and eventually level 6, and perhaps even level 7! This will probably take years to achieve because my life isn't fully dedicated to fitness, I got other things such as school and a job, but hey I'll try to make the best of it
