I'm getting into the NOD game too lol.

Pesto wrote up a review of a Holosun unit that I think I'll be grabbing in the future here: http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread....hlight=holosun

I've tried almost all of the commercially available lasers. Most of them are not true IR lasers and/or break really easily. The one I found to be the most reliable is found in the link. Some fields might get their panties in a knot over the fact that it comes with a class 3 green laser as well, but the quick fix for this is to take the protect lens off and put a small piece of electrical tape underneath and replace the lens. This fix has been enough for most fields I go to.

I've got some issues with the Perst lasers as they are literally full milspec IR lasers. I would NOT want a full power IR laser being used on the same field that I'm playing on for safety's sake. Hence, most hosts in Ontario only allow class 1 IR lasers.

All the repro lasers (ie airsoft ones) tend to be way too powerful...

a) unsafe

b) they will white out your tubes if you're using them in CQB.. they'll mean you cant run recording units well as they'll see the brightest bit (the laser) and set their gain to that for recording

c) because they're basically lightsabers, NOD users will spot you from miles off...

You can either mod them to be lower powered... or buy real lasers (expensive).

I've just got a Zenitco (ivan tac referenced above) and will compare with real peq2a and G&P DBAL so once I've done some testing I'll post back, but a friend has one of the Zentico's and its beam is super tight and just a dot, much like the real Peq's and NOT like the repro's that are half illuminator, half laser, full lightsaber.

All the Chinese IR lasers can be turned down fairly easily, but it's up to your local field whether or not they'll accept them. So make sure you find out the requirements for the games you want to use it at first.

Also, you cannot sneak in something class 3 (3-5mW) and just expect people to not find out.
It's like the difference between a 60 lumen light and a 300 lumen light. The difference is glaringly obvious under night vision.

So if the field NEEDS a RS class 1 laser, then there's no getting around it.
