Ski Masks? any good?

I've always used full face masks in skrims, im really afraid of getting shot in the face. Now if i covered my face with a ski mask will it penatrate through that and damage my skin??

Don't worry it won't damage your skin but you might lose an eye from the shattered glass of the lense.

ski masks no good
some guys have goggles that look like ski masks, but they provide no ballistic protection.

wear a belclava for some added protection in combination with paintball approved goggles.

but really, its not that bad, I get shot in the face atleast a dozen times a game....infact, id say about 99% of the time I get killed, its from face shots.
nothing more then a small welt thats gone the next day.

You will sweat to death with a ski mask in the summer. It will help slow down the speed of the bb. But if you play with responsible people they will hardly aim for your face.

Get a cool max Balaclava, i have one and its great. Search Cool max, on the ASC searching thing. Their is a ASCer who is a dealer.

Or rip the lens out of the ski mask and replace it with stainless steel wire mesh.

Paint the mesh flat black though.

or OD

even pink...

what ever colour you like best.

I'm assuming he is talking about a ski "mask", as in a balaclava type mask that people wear to rob thier local 7-11. And not ski googles, which everone should already know are not ballistic rated.

he's talking about balaclavas, They wont do a damn thing but give you heat stroke, unless you're playing in the winter ofcourse, I remember wearing a balaclava once, but it wasnt one of those nylon tactical ones, almost passed right out

everyone should be playing safely and aiming for center mass.. but if you only show your head/face thats what will get hit

I'd say only shots from upgraded aegs (400fps+) from close range/pointblank on direct skin contact hurt and may cause bleeding/chipped teeth/ or little welts...

Have you ever played before? With a comment like that I'd assume NO.

A STOCK gun can leave nasty welts & bleeders.

You ever been shot in the face from 2FT away? That leaves a nasty bleeder.

Most games require paintball approved goggles (BrassEagle, etc.) but i wouldn't recomend them for personal games...they most likely will crack when shot and small peices of plastic could get lodged in your eye...ouchie!

you are asking me if i've played before? of course I have, why would I post something that I have no experience in, unless I am jsut as clueless as the next person.

I've been shot with guns that were not stock in the face, lips and hands and DID NOT get any bleeders. i have yet to get one in my days of playing airsoft. the only thing i get are mosquito bites

further more i have shot someone from 2ft away in the chest on bare skin and they only got a welt that lasted maybe a week or so the size of a bb.

ive also shot my leg point blank, full auto with a TM M16 upgraded:
150% spring
ported TM piston head
KN Head upgraded hop-up bucking.
Chronied at ILLusions place in 2004 at 350-370fps

i did not get a bleeder. im speaking from my own experience,
i guess you just had shiity luck that day you got a bleeder.

===

may I add that if your skin is generally soft, you will have more chance of getting a bleeder. There are many things to consider that will vary the outcome of getting shot with airsoft. i dont play indoors where there is no wind.

Have you ever been in the military? Make up your mind this time.

Also, I wear a black nomex balaclava all year round, sure, it's hot, but it's not unbearable, at least not to me. Furthermore, my goggles don't even fog up, and it looks cool

I can attest that you don't get bleeders that easily. I shot myself in the shin with my pdi 170 m16 once. It left a bump, but no blood.
