In short, the G&P models are the best using a V2 gearbox.

I love my Classic Army with a little work done to it and after replacing the box with a MAG brand box. A&K is a similar, lighter clone of the CA.

Classic Army is the way to go, my SAW Gunner has abused the shit out of my SAW, we took the mech box apart and the gears were in great shape. Put it this way, Operation Grayling 2014, Simon fired over 30 000 bb's through it with no stoppages!

this here, i have a A&K PKM waiting for HPA because the whining is getting tiresome; not quite as bad as not being able to hear people call hits over the ol`TOP m60e3 i had years ago, just plain dangerously loud. Also - feed tray? HA, *shake, shake, shake*"cmooonnnnn" *shake, shake, shake*

i have a coveted daytonagun generic m249 shell that's super fun to use, still loud though, all part of the fun with none of the set backs of older loud guns, and in a small package for a SAW. CA is going to be your best bet for the money.

theyre expensive, and heavy..sure $500 from the store is cheap but it quickly adds up, like owning a premium car or truck. If this is his first gun, you can get by with a box mag or hicap and some longevity upgrades in a normal AEG, unless youre going for the fluff and fun-aspect of using a SAW, get a normal rifle first, with a homemade servo driven hicap boxmag or storebought boxmag/c mag.

i dont want to be a negative ninny, but ive seen lots of people buy into the sniper or saw position and quickly sell out for something more average. :banghead:

Ok so now I get a M249 Classic Army with the Sound operated A&K box mag ?

Which battery he should purchase, he ever get a 11.1 lipo but not sure the trigger will like this abuse of power.

Alos, some upgrade to do first on it ?

Plus 1 for G&P M249. If you're not running box mags, then your gun is just heavier, but make sure you know what your local mag limits are. If you're gonna run M4 mags, get an M4. Buy high end box mags, not cheap crap.

Tune your gear box with strong gears, piston/nozzle properly and get the appropriate motor and batteries to handle prolonged automatic fire. A solid barrel and hop-up of course, but that's obvious for any gun.

These guns can be terrors if used properly. I'd recommend getting the shorter version to save weight and awkwardness. Keep your ROF high, but not stupid and obnoxious, so like 25-ish rounds per second is good. With a reasonably high FPS (say 400 with 0.20g) and proper weighted rounds, you can cover your enemy in a non-stop barrage of spray, ricochets and general disruption. If that's not your goal, get an assault platform, it'll serve you better.

No, get the MAG brand soft boxmag.
That's the one you want.

G&P
Uses superior AUG hop chamber
Is made of actual steel
3000 round box with room for 11.1v 4900mah lipo battery
Manual feed on box mag and you can wire the feeder motor directly to the lipo
Compatible with ARES/STAR 1000rnd nutsack
Uses standard v2 mechbox
Uses regular trigger contacts so you can use any mosfet available
Has not been known to suddenly start firing randomly
Has the best safety of any aeg (you unplug the battery)
Superior and more reliable centerline feeding system
Who uses m4 mags on an lmg anyway?
More realistic weight
Better ventilated motor for more full auto
Can actually use the carry handle without fear of snapping it off
