CBSA seized my plate carrier

I recently made a trade with a guy in the UK and scored a sweet Crye CPC. Not a cheap carrier. I've been tracking it the whole way. As of late this afternoon I received word from UPS that it was seized by customs. Obviously I am panicking. I got the case number and the officers badge number but of course CBSA had already closed for the day. Has this happened to anyone else? What should I do about it?
Thanks

Which province are you living in? Did the guy include any plates for it?
Call them again

I'm in Ontario.
No there were no plates included. Not even dummy plates.
I'm likely thinking the same thing you are.. they seized it with the suspicion there was armor in the package

Was it SEIZED or is it being HELD?

Two very different things.

Yeah if it's being held for inspection that's another thing altogether. Seized then yer likely screwed or it won't be worth the effort to get it. Being inspected then it'll get looked at deemed to be non restricted and bobs yer uncle.
Unless of course there is something like ITAR (i think is what it's called in the USA) that prohibits the import of an empty carrier.

Itar only applies to things coming in and out of America
How about posting a screenshot of the notification?

They'll just hold it for the winter sliding events. Once spring comes it'll be released and winging it's way on to you.

I've tracked shipments that said they were in customs inspection, usually it gets cleared and I get it just fine. Does your tracking statement say it was 'seized' specifically? Were you contacted? Give us a scan or screenshot.

The seller shipped with UPS. That was the number one problem.
I have received a seizure number and the officers badge number.
It came from the UK so ITAR regulations do not apply.
I am currently writing an appeal to CBSA.
This is a nightmare since this carrier is worth about $1000 CAD.

Better came with a bunch of pouches etc. or you overpaid a ton.

Does it file your taxes for you or shoot laser beams or something? $1000 seems REALLY steep for a PC...

Your package will be finger sexed and released unless it's full of cocain.
