Any new features guys?

More hosts need to get in on this,

Ops center has the features you need, and players will, use it if you do.

Saves me hours a week in running my games

I just checked the website with the intention of suggesting it... and the .net is dead (well, taken over by "freaky black cougars"). .co.uk, .com, .info, .us and .ca are dead.

So is Ops-Center abandoned?

I thought so, and IMHO it's much better than the 10 year old platform we use in Quebec... but people were unfortunately attached to their inferior platform for whatever reason, lol.

I wished hosts did make the switch, especially with Facebook rising among game hosts (which honestly sucks for it) and newcomers not using ASC as much... that platform is needed but can't take off without hosts.

Who were the developers? I'm curious what happened to the codebase and if there could be a chance to open-source it rather than just leave it dead. Which I can understand to be painful if money was invested, but perhaps less so than abandoning it...

I'd suggest editing your original post with links. Each one links to a sketchy porn page (sketchy as in potentially computer damaging, not grandma with midgets sketchy)

I was having the talk about how facebook created event games have pretty much have surpassed asc created event games (at least it seems in ontario) its a shame really, because it feels like OPS-Centre was 2 years too early... the tool would be perfect these days...

yep I agree , ahead of it's time

Facebook is certainly becoming the primary communication tool , but it lacks the centralization of the ASC forum .. but the fact is the there are many many people involved in airsoft that just don't use ASC

ASC has a bad reputation on many airsoft forums as been harsh and mean.

That is usually from the kiddies that want everything spoon fed to them, without having to do any research.

And a big problem is that you don't know who a lot of these people are on Facebook or how old they are or what type of player they might be.

Lots of groups have had to implement some hard line rules to keep from having absolute chaos.

to be honest. 2 years ago people like myself, were fine with signing up to games on this cumbersome forum. I wasnt keen on letting anyone but my personal friends and family see my facebook stuff (i know you could sign up to ops-centre without facebook, but I hated the idea of another log-in to remember)

also, those facebook games back then were mostly populated by asc rejects, sketchy hosts and cheaters anyways...

not the case these days.

Well the rejects and sketchy hosts didn't go anywhere. They are just mixed in with the legitimate events now.

No real way to tell them apart.

At least with facebook, you are more likely to actually know who you are dealing with.

I have used eventzilla to run events , I do so for Op Woodsman, and it works pretty well

I will probably expand this in the future.

again it was too bad OP-Centre failed, it could have been the answer to many of the problems we are facing now with event management on multiple platforms ..
