A nalgene bottle of water in the staging area should be fine for about half a day 3/4 of a day if you stretch it out. Preferably get a few bottles of water and toss them into a cooler if you can, cool water is really refreshing especially when it's a hot day.

Get a camelbak if you can. CP gear sells the pack in CADPAT, OD, and tan IIRC. All you need after that is a bladder (2-3 Litre is really good). Don't have to have the camelbak on you on the field though, in the staging area should be good enough.

If you're not sure about hits call it. You don't want to be known as the "cheating underager" even if it wasn't intended.

Listen to the field marshals and admins, and show respect, you will get it back in return. Ask questions if not sure, but don't bug people with every stupid ass question you can think of (like alcohol a little bit is good, too much is bad).

Prepare to get dirty. Bring a change of clothes, you don't want to have to wash/vacuum the car after a long days game.

Bring a lunch if not provided, not like an Oh-Henry bar and coke but something more like, go to Safeway and pick up some lunch meat, tomatoes, lettuce, etc. and make a sandwich with that, doesn't have to be anything special but good nutrition should keep you running for the whole day. Hey you can even pick up those "lumber jack" sandwiches at Safeway to save you the trouble of having to make a sandwich.

DO NOT under any circumstances be condescending or anything, act normal (well, act normal enough....) you're in the eyes of the other players so make a good impression, even a meh one is good enough, don't leave a bad taste in their mouth is pretty much what you should be aiming for.

Yeah. Mosquitoes are the very things im worried about.
Getting stung multiple times is not very fun.

Fixed But yeah, that would be the worst, especially under all that clothing.

Hmm, to me, I'd feel anger. Because I probably let myself open to get shot at.

Heh, I really can't explain how it feels, it's airsoft. If you're scared to get shot, don't make mistakes.
Make a mistake and learn from it. You'll get used to it.

If you've ever been stung by a bee that's a good comparo.

By the way, what kind of bugs do you think you'll see in Vancouver?

Especially at this time of year!

Mr. Hitman - Aha, I'd feel anger too. But i'll wait till next round to exact my revenge. * in a friendly way of course, just stealthy opening up on the person within my minimum range". I'll just used to getting hit eventually

Danke - I seriously don't know. Mainly I'm trying to stay away from mosquitoes.

Priorities

First time players... usually spend all their time worrying about their guns.. and not enough time worrying about themselves

make sure you are ready for the environment

you are in BC .. and its winter.. RAIN GEAR .. gortex .. dry boots .. extra socks spare dry foot wear. 2 pairs of gloves .. thin and thick
layers of clothing.. a hat .. 2 hats

food and water... lots of water.. at least 3 liters.. snacks and extra water.. enough to share ( best way to make friends .. offer a snack to someone )

Batteries charged and ready.. magazines loaded and ready .. gun case ..

BBs .. again enough to share ( another way to make friends .. )

Finally.. Listen.. ask questions.. DO NOT hang around the edges.. Introduce yourself around to EVERYONE .. tell them you are an new player and are looking for help to get started.

ASK someone if you can run with them .. and listen to them

In the safe zone .. be safer than everyone else.. always make sure your weapon is pointing in a safe direction .. even if the barrel has a cover on it.

Dont touch anything without asking.. but touch as much as you can after asking.

As a young player.. a lot of people won't have much time for you.. but behave well and respectfully and soon you will be welcomed by all.

Some people will welcome you.. some people will treat you like a "kid" ( you will hate that.. but you will get over it )

Don't try to prove you are "mature" with words.. its deeds that count.

If you are sensiteve to Mosquitoes.. get some after bite .. make sure you are covered up .. and bug juce.. but you will get bit.. deal with it.. its an out door activity ... the bugs live there and you are filled with what they need to eat. DON'T mention that you are worried about bugs.. shut up an deal with it.. you DO NOT wat the be labled as "the kid afraid of bugs"

Enjoy!

For underaged players, that's very very important.

I often get the "I'm mature for my age" reply... Words...

I came across a few 16 years old that played and behaved better than 30+ years old at games. Back when it was allowed. They where the type of kid that did not say much, but where listening a lot.

You won't see many skeeters I thinks.

Funny story for anyone from out east coming to BC, especially Vancouver. First time I got there we're in a bar and my buddy opens up the window, I almost freaked when I saw there as no screen on the window.

For the actual game try to have a good time, talk to folk but don't yap like a little poodle, find a few guys who will let you tag along with the group and do what they tell you to do. You won't be able to go "Lone Wolf" for a while
