DBoy's FN Scar L

Well I've been searching around for a Scar Aeg for the past month; looking at reviews and such, and I was curious if anyone on the board has one and can tell me their experience with it. A friend bought a Dboys PDW and loves it, seemed like a fairly well built gun for the bucks. If someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

I have both VFC PDW and DBoys RDW, VFC is better in every way except price and their generally crappy selectors. I also have a VFC Scar H and it's beautiful. Unfortunately I don't have the Dboys Scar but if it's something like my PDW/RDW, it's worth the money. Not as good but you're paying about half the price.

When I say not as good, I mean over external and internal build. The RDW has play between the receivers and VFC self shimming gears are sexy. I found the PDW gearbox to be easier to work with too.

yer doin it wrong.

the only thing I don't like about the dboy is the ambi selector being a piece of crap, but the whole thing in general is fine.

the dboy scar is a favourite of some people on ASM (out of the scars), but it's really up to you (OP) to decide.

Got the VFC H SSR because the external detail is superb!

You should look at both in person then decide.

VFC makes the sexiest SCARs!
I know a couple guys who had Dboys and didn't really like them. Most had poor QC on the bodies leading to internals that never lined up and caused tons of issues.

Dboys is a clone of VFC for their RDW/PDW line anyways...they both have shitty selectors lol. You'd expect a better selector for something near the $500 range for the VFC though.

I figure for the price ($260) I could do a ton of upgrade; pretty much complete Lonex box and still be in the same ball park as the VFC. Really what Im most concerned with is the body fit and finish. From the reviews ive been looking at, seem to be giving fairly high praise in this category. Anyone else out there loving or hating the Dboy's Scar L?

Dboys/boyi scar-l's are actually clones of the Classic army one I should know I've owned 2. Nice gun but have fun getting thr gearbox out.

It's your money. If you think $260 is a good deal, buy it. I don't think sinking $$$ into the internals of a budget gun will do anything for the exterior.

It is not about hate or love of the Dboys. They are low cost, budget guns. But if you have seen a VFC in person and can't see the difference, then still buy the Dboys.

I vote VFC SCAR-L. Those little issues on clones can drive you crazy and be expensive to fix. I picked up my SCAR brand new for 350 in Canada so it's only about 100 dollars more for peace of mind, really.

Actually, Classic Army's SCAR-L and its DBOY clone replicate the GEN 2 prototypes of SCAR.

This is the GEN-1 SCAR-L prototype:

Notice its FNC-esque lower receiver, which initially lead some observers to believe that the SCAR was a further development of the FNC.
