Advice on a Beretta GBB

I am looking to get a fairly inexpensive GBB Beretta and I think I have narrowed it down to two guns. One is the HFC M190 Special Force ( Metal Slide & Frame ), and the other is the KJ Works M9 ( Full Metal Version ). I have seen a review of the KJW M9 on arnies but have not seen any reviews for the HFC M190. So, do you guys have any advice? They are both in the same price range, and are fairly cheap, both seem to be mostly metal though I am not sure what the FPS is on either of them. The HFC M199 Semi/Full Auto looks really nice but is a little more than I can afford at the moment.

So any advice would be great, unless you guys know of a better Beretta in that price range?

i like my kjw m9 and it came STRONGLY recommended by several members on this forum.

realize that the trades are lacking and the metal is not the finest, but it delivers a nice weight, nice blowback and it is after all full metal propane ready.

hogue grips are a must on this GBB...no doubt!

KJW is your only option for cheap, metal and looking exactly like the real one. It seems to me to be the only smart choice for metal because you have to well over $500 to upgrade a bloody plastic Japanese one.

But the bloody japanese one will have 100% accurate trades! (Not to mention, feel/looks a whole lot nicer than the KJ ever will)

The KJ, while extremely popular has been known for getting a few lemons in the batches, this is probably due to KJ's sort of 'lax' QC standards. One example was when somone's slide physically flew off, and they've been known to jam a bit (albeit, i've seen that with TM and KSC M9's as well so it might be the gun design itself).

Skirmish wise: Go for the KJ or the M190 (both have favorable reviews)
Collector wise: Avoid everyone except for WA, who apperantly have the most accurate trademarks on their handguns, but for some strange reason lack realism (Ie. KSC's M9 working decocker)

The HFC is a VERY nice M9 copy. The trades leave MUCH to be desired, however.

The decocker certainly works on WA M9s. Just look at Calvin's next time you're at XT.

Well so far I am more toward the KJW than the HFC cause I have seen more than one post saying that pretty much all HFC are crap. I suppose pretty much everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt though.

Seems like so far most of you guys think the KJW is the better route. Does the HFC need any sort of upgrade for propane? I have not seen anywhere that says what type of gas each is built for. I had seen someplace that the HFC is basically the same as a TM M190 and so you can use TM parts and mags for it, can anyone confirm that or is that even worth concidering as a buying feature?

Don't suppose there's anyone in the Peterborough area with a KJW M9 that I could check out? I don't think there are any games in the area unfortunately.

Well, KJW is probably the way to go, as you can actually buy it in Canada. It seems that no-one has the HFC M190 around here, there are a few exceptions, though. KJW is more widely used, and have quite a good reputation (except for the odd lemon or pot-metal complaint). However, Arnies and AR's people seem to lean more towards the HFC.
However, I'll admit that the other HFC guns are crap.
As for the reviews, head to the Arnie's Airsoft Review Database, and to to the 3 different ones for the different sorts of HFC M190s. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised.

Hi. I'm a bit of an airsoft newbie and I'm going to use this thread instead of starting a new one. Sorry for the hijack. I'll be quick about it. Can you fit a silencer to any of these KJ works models? If so, which one?

another bonus of the KJ is the TM's parts are pretty much interchangable. Including magazines.

add me to the list of the people highly recommending the KJ, I've got about 3500 shots through mine, no problems.

So would all M9 mags be interchangable?
