Francophones, your assistance is required!

I need the following phrases translated into French, as succinctly as possible because space is limited. Feel free to use abbreviations and slashes where possible, ie. Manufactured in/Fabrique au UK --> Mfg in/Fab au UK

Some of you already know what this is for, the rest of you will likely figure it out. And since I know the question will be posed, it is still a work in progress full of government red tape so there is no ETA yet, sorry. Progress is steady and positive, I'll say that much.

Thanks in advance to any volunteers!

here's my crack at it, maybe someone can improve/correct stuff.

Explodes with flash -> Explose avec éclat lumineux
Explodes with flash and multiple reports -> Explose avec éclat lumineux et détonations sonores multiples
Explodes with flash and multiple report then emits smoke -> Explose avec éclat lumineux et détonations sonores multiples, puis émet de la fumée
Explodes with flash and loud report -> Explose avec éclat lumineux et forte détonation sonore
Emits cloud of smoke -> Émet un nuage de fumée
Explodes and expels projectiles -> Explose et expulse des projectiles

I have no idea how you'd say "throwing hand", there's no equivalent expression that I know of. Maybe someone else can tackle that.

Wear safety glasses and hearing protection. -> Portez des lunettes de sécurité et de la protection auditive.
If article fails to explode wait 10 minutes and return to importer. -> Si l'engin n'explose pas attendez 10 minutes et retournez Ã* l'importateur. [personal note: that sounds dangerous. I dunno how comfortable I'd be handling that]
Do not attempt to relight. -> Ne tentez pas de rallumer.
Illegal to modify or disassemble article. -> Il est interdit de modifier ou désassembler cet article.
Do not use on or around flammable material or dry grass. -> Ne pas utiliser près de matériaux inflammables ou végétation sèche.

For adult use only. -> Pour adultes seulement.
Drop grenade and retreat 5 meters. Do not hold in hand. -> Jetez la grenade et reculez de 5 metres. Ne pas tenir dans la main.
Do not leave burning article unattended. -> Ne pas laisser l'article allumé sans surveillance.

Good one.
I'd replace the red part by:

"et une protection auditive."

Flash est accecpter en français, mais éclair serait aussi un bon terme dans le contexte.

Edit in english : "Flash" is in the dictionnary, but "éclair" may also be a good choice

Edit 2 : Petit Robert : Flash : Lampe émettant une lumière brève et intense qui permet de prendre des photographies en milieu sombre... Yup, use flash for flash!

Hi, to me Aper's translation is pretty spot on. Few things i'd do differently :

And then when writing instructions in french, the infinitive is usually used. So it would normally be "Tenir la grenade" rather than "Tenez la grenade"

A few comments and observations:

Use "Cuillère" (also can be written "cuiller") instead of "levier", the literal translation for "lever". As per definition in weaponry context, a "Cuillère" is maintained in place by the "Goupille" (pull ring), which seems a more accurate translation in current context

Pay attention to accents:

Quote:
Ne pas utiliser sur où près de substances inflammables ou sur de l'herbe séche
"Séche" is written wrong, it should be "sèche"

Also to the end of infinitive words, often written as imperative
As Upnorth noted, "Ne pas laissez" (Laissez is imperative) should be written "Ne pas laisser" (Inifitive)

About "Throwing Hand":
I'm not a fan of "main lanceuse", although it's probably the most accurate traduction I can think of. I would also consider the use of "main dominante", which by extension would mean the same think as one would use his dominant hand. Note that a (real) quick search haven't resulted on any valid use of the term "throwing hand" in english used as a noun. Is it a really valid expression?

Quote:
Hold in throwing hand; twist off top cap, turn cap over; strike top of cap against fuse
About the cap: Suggestions were "couvercle" (lid) and "bouchon" (as in "cork" or "stopper"); I'd rather use "capuchon" which is a literal translation for cap and is used for small lids or cover (capuchon de stylo <-> pen cap)

Hope this help

No, Flash in french is the name of the "flash gun" on a camera. Not the name of the light emission. "Éclair" would be the right term.

Un Flash émet des éclairs. wich would literally translate in english as "A flash emit bolts (of lights)."

I'm about to submit these and would just like to make sure these are now accurate. Also is "l'engin" correct for this context? Google Translate (sorry, best resource I have!) translates it to "engine" which doesn't seem quite right, but Google isn't a language expert and transliterates more than it actually translates. What about about "despositif", device?

Also for the description of flash, are we going with lumière or e'clair? I have lumière in the descriptions below.

You guys are the fluent ones so I'll go with your expertise. Here's how I have them now. Thanks again!

Explodes with flash // Explose avec lumière
Explodes with flash and multiple reports // Explose avec lumière et détonations multiples
Explodes with flash and multiple report then emits smoke // Explose avec lumière et détonations multiples suivi d'une émanation de fumée

Emits cloud of smoke // Émet un nuage de fumée
Explodes and expels projectiles // Explose et propulse des projectiles

Hold in throwing hand; twist off top cap, turn cap over; strike top of cap against fuse // Tenir dans la main dominante; dévisser le capuchon du dessus, retourner le capuchon puis frotter le dessus du capuchon sur l'amorce
