Tigerstrip were mostly CIDG or Mike force, they weren't regulars.

If you speak of ERDL or usualy call leaf pattern items arvn pattern is different from US pattern.
Arvn pattern is egual of US pattern spot (direct copy of this) but with some difference about color (arvn is more lime and brown is more red) and factory of items, if i find some photo i sand to you

they were rather simliar. alot of the ranger units (a good chunk of line units as well) was issued the ERDL's, they usually had the old m1 without a cam net, instead they were sometimes their units logo on the front of the helmet.
I don't really know a whole lot myself, as I've never really looked into the arvn side of the allies.

Thant's definetly a civilian made hunting jacket, the biggest clue with that particular jacket is the orange liner.
It went for a good price though.

If you want an ARVN regular look I'd go with plain od's.
If you wanted to go with an SF look like the guys who were out with Macv ect. you could get some erdl or tiger's to wear.

Don't forget Arvin was a depressingly poor army building as they went, so as hard as it was for lots of US troops to get thier gear ARVN would have a tough time having anything more than the basics, if that.

The original tiger stripe was made in cambodia and the ARVN would award them to the most elite of thier force. The US Seals adopted it when they joined the POLICE ACTION. Also if you're going for authenticity you'll be looking for a pair of sandals as well. The partern is very brite but aparently very good in the Vietnamese jungle. Any how you can get an authentic set from a guy here in Toronto. Comes straight from Cambodia and has the date and manufacturer stamped on it. Only problrm is he's asking 700 bucks for the set.

ARVN paras wore French F1 Lizard pattern with a red beret and white laced jump boots.

A good way to do an ARVN regular is to get the ameirican OG 107 uniform from 1965. The regular army never wore jungle fatigues.
Until late into the war regular ARVN units would be equiped with M1 Carbines, Bar and Garands. Webbing would a a mix of French style and American.
When the the units would get the M16 they would also switch to American webbing.
Check out the Men-at-arms series from Osprey. They have some excellent pictures of kit.
