That's not how scientific method works. Just because it works once doesn't mean it will work every time. Wouldn't you want to know which gearboxes work as well, or even investigate WHY it's working? Other than the obvious fact that lots of gearbox makers coughkwacough over-engineer and waste money?

The fact that it is holding makes me happy. Think of my efforts as N=1. If my gun goes on and works as intended without failure, and other people do the same thing and game similar results then we know it works.

I am not saying that everyone should do what I did. I took a chance and accepted the risks. If someone wants to do it, here is what i did, and the outcome I got, which I am happy about.
