Difference between WE G17 gen3 and gen4

I feel kinda bad for posting that much :/ but I have a alot of question lol.

so yea, title says it all, I was wondering what was the differences between the WE G17 gen 4 and 3.

In addition to that. Sometimes I can read G17 Type B or Type A. What does that means?

Gen 4 vs. Gen 3. Gen 4 has ambi mag release, new stippling, & changeable back straps.

Never heard of B vs. A.

One's a Gen3 and one's a Gen4...

Gen3 and Gen4 relate to the real ones. Different grips and different mag releases.

Don't know about an A or B, but the G17 C has a ported slide.

Looks unique to that store so you should ask them. Maybe it's to tell the frame colours apart.

The Airsoft Version has an Ambi Mag release?

I really don't know, I guess it wasn't much of an effort for WE to make it though. my concerns were if the internals between the 2 versions were the same. Gen 3 is generally a little cheaper and I see no reason to go for the gen 4.

The mag release can switched between the right or the left side (not both at the same time) to accommodate right handed or left handed shooters.

I have both and the Internals are identical

The only difference is frame for the Gen 3 and 4
Other than that everything else is the same.

So pretty much you can drop everything into a Gen 3 frame and vice versa... I've been doing it forever with my Glocks.

Its hilarious how many people chime in with absolutely no experience giving misinformation.

Exactly. A pretty big change for Glock.

And just to be utterly clear there are a raft of changes in the real types vs. the airsoft versions that are irrelevant. In airsoft it's pretty well all down to cosmetics other than the back straps and the mag release.

Actually, the real steel gen 4 has a different Recoil Spring assembly (RSA). Basicly a different recoil spring and guide. I guess it is not the case in the airsoft version

Right the airsoft versions just get visual changes in most cases.
