Accurate Gbbr

Hi everybody,

I will get a WE 416 open bolt real soon and this gun will be used for target shooting. I would like to get your help on this. What upgrade do i need to get this riffle to shoot a coke can at 100-125 feet or more if possible. i want to use .28 or .30 bbs at 450fps.

I will probably add a heavy recoil kit, tigh bore, maybe npas.

Don't woory about gas consumption as this isn't my priority. as long as i can shoot 20bb per mag i'm ok with this.

I have easy access to R134, and i can also use external gas supply for cold weather.

I have absolutly no problem doing all my maintenance and upgrades myself. And i 'm ready to make mistake.

The budget isn't a problem, i just want to have fun building this gun and using it.

Thanks for all your help

Would a heavy recoil kit be counter-productive to the cause of building an accurate target GBBR?

Open bolt GBBR is the closest you will get to realistic in function.
If you want more realistic, get RS. lol

imo a RS 5.56 doesn't kick all that hard having shot one... shot a friend's WE open bolt pdw and it felt fairly similar maybe 70-80% of the kick I remember feeling from an m4 I shot back in vegas a few years ago. Almost felt I could one hand it... sure the range guy would've loved that heh.

Upgrade your hop up, install NPAS and change to a 6.02 tightbore. That will give you better consistency.

If you want 450 fps on 0.30 BBs, then you will definitely need the NPAS and will likely need to do the mod on the nozzle. On my 416, I have the NPAS installed with no mod and can only get a maximum of 480 fps on .20 BBs. Probably around 400 fps on 0.30.

You can buy an enhanced buffer for the M4 to increase felt recoil

TSC makes it , no idea if it does what it says it does.. I would think if it was heavier.. that it would reduce the cyclic rate of fire.

The TSC recoil buffer is a bit heavier than stock but what makes the additional recoil is that thing inside it that bounces back and forth when the buffer moves about. Kind of annoying because you can hear and feel it bounce when tilting the gun.

1. RA-Tech complete bolt carrier(one that comes with NPAS installed) or Inokatsu Super bolt carrier(you'll need a separate NPAS and take our the adaptor at the back of bolt carrier)
2. RS AR15 buffer tube set(recoil spring, buffer, buffer lock, buffer tube).
3. RA-Tech hopup chamber+hopup rubber

This will give you an accuracy and realism. Tightbore won't be necessary. If you got more money after buy and installed them, I'd recommand you swap entire internal into CNC version internal.

125 ft. can be achieved with the stock gun.
In any case, yeah, Falcon o Ra-Tech precision inner, Nine-Ball VSR Bucking, or Firefly Bucking, Steel Bolt and Trigger set (not sure what's available for the ARs, I'm going with the SCAR upgrades). I would recommend using the WE VN Style mags, too, as I'm running those on a DMR and they outperform the regular M4 mags in my opinion.
You can get 200 ft. + with this platform after you've dialed it and whatever aiming device you'll be using (if any) down.

Inokatsu bolt in a WE-tech gun? I'm no GBBR buff, but I'm 100% positive that Inokatsu is "WA-system" base so not at all compatible with a WE rifle.

What is the mod i have to do on the nozzle???
Do i need to replace internal and bolt to CNC parts(futur upgrade, not now)???

WE M4 Open-Chamber series I recommand the following parts

1) Steel Trigger Set, ends a woes on parts breaking. On very high round count you might have to replace the striker pin (the striker pin body is fine)

2) Steel Bolt Carrier, with the use of steel trigger you need this as pot metal wear is accelerated against steel. This also remove fear of bolt carrier breaking (there are cases of this occuring, rare, but does occur)

3) i-Hop-up set, first of all the bucking is a dual point deisgn instead of single contact on stock WE this helps with hopup consistency. The other thing is that i-Hop design has an additional steel piece place outside of the nozzle port, increase life-expectancy of the nozzle

4) Inner barrel, The gun uses VSR type inner barrel, make good use of that compatiability. While WE claim it is 6.03mm tightbore, I think the sloppy QC WE has question the barrel being actually 6.03mm tightbore through out

I would avoid:

-AR-15 Buffer
-AR-15 Recoil Spring
-Enhance recoil kit

These parts will accerelate part wear especially the plastic nozzle of the M4

Replacement part...
RA-Tech Steel Striker Pin (Round count, replace every 10-15k, if you don't you will have full auto stutter issue)
Nozzle Assembly (slam bolt carrier forward when it misfeed or bb not chamber
