New to airsoft, looking to become more involved

hey,
so i have been in to airsoft vary loosely for about a year now, just the random backyard games. my current gear is made of mostly Canadian tire and walmart stuff, not the greatest but still ok ?

i guess my question is, in terms of beginner's stuff how good would you guys (pros, to me at least) rate crossman, Colt and Heckler & Koch gear and guns.

i have found some to be good and others to be way crap, mainly becasue of me being broke(fresh from school) i have not really moved on to better grear and just not knowing what to get, any help would be awesome !

Hi and welcome
There's tons and tons of information available on these forums; I suggest you take a few days to read lits and lots first, as you'll find most of your questions have already been asked and answered, probably tens of times, already.

That being said, you'll find out that Canadian Tire and Walmart stuff are usually frown upon, and considered to be the lowest crap you can get (because they are). But hey, you didn't know better don't you?

Airsoft is an expensive hobby. A good entry gun will run you 250-350$, and you'll have to add good battery, charger, good eye protections, boots, magazines, probably a vest with some mag pouches at least, etc.

Also, acquisition and selling of airsoft guns is "reserved" to 18+, for legal purposes. If you are not of age yet, you'll have to wait patiently and take that opportunity to read and understand more about the sport, and also stack some cash.

as for the walmart and Canadian tire crap, i know its crap. i figured i would ask around before dropping 300 on a AEG to find its not up to par... i have a vest and other stuff like that, just need a few upgrades in terms of guns.

also im 21, in processes of getting my age verified.

and as always thanks for the help

I suggest you check the retailers advertised on this site, make a selection of a few AEGs you'd like to buy, tell us about them, and you'll probably get some info from people here about what they think of the AEGs you selected.
The classifieds offer a few cheap-and-good guns right now, check it out when you're verified.
Usually it's safer to go with the well known brands, full metal is sturdier but you can have fun with quality plastic too.Avoid CT stuff at all cost.
