Rig Question (Thin Guys)

Looking for some insight from the thin guys about a rig choice.

Currently using a Force Recon ver.MAR, and seeing as I'm 6'0 130lbs 30inch waist, I swim in it at all times. It's very burdening, it overhangs a lot because I cannot size it in any further, which also as a result puts a lot of pressure on my shoulders.

I've recently been looking at this particular chest rig:
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/flyye-rrv...on-vest-2.html

It seems to have the capability of coming in a lot to adjust for a thinner build, but I'd rather get some insight first before making a purchase that I may regret.

Looking for something that has a pretty close/tight fit (as a thin guy) but also something that isn't going to weigh me down. I have more of a runner/recon playstyle, so mobility and speed are important to me.

your best bet would be a chest rig.
that being said I've noticed some of the smaller/thinner guys have to "custom fit" their rigs
as in the modify the straps and webbing to fit more comfortably.

I am 165lbs and 6'1'' 32 " waist.

I use the Flyye Industries Outer Tactical Vest for indoor, and just a plain old chest rig for out doors. I find if speed is your priority then you need something as light as possible.

In general look for rigs that come in different sizes. My flyye OT is a medium and actually says medium on it. But I have to tighten the straps quite a lot for it to feel right.

Check out the Tyr Tactical COMA Rig. I'm a a tall thin guy as well with a similar play style to yourself and it works fantastic. Made entirely out of Tyr's super lightweight PV material, you barely even notice you're wearing it.

Only con would be the price, however.

The RRV will be able to fit you. The shoulder straps and waist strap is very ajustable. If you wear it with the shoulder strap crossed, it will be very confortable.

If you want other type of body armor, loot into the asian sized one. Though it might ride a bit too high on you.

The last solution would be to hit the gym.

I took this solution and gained 35lbs of muscles. Any gear fit perfectly. (o:

I don't think I'll be gaining any weight any time soon to help fill in the gaps (literally) :P

Not looking for any kind of body armour, I find them too hindering and would like to stay away from them. Thank you for the information on the shoulder straps, that'll make a difference for sure

I'm only 140lbs and my one-size-fits-all plate carrier fits me just fine. You just need to sew the cummerbund together at the back when you're a small guy lol

might have to look at some real steel gear options, there's some mini plate carriers that are very small that will probably fit you better.. but you sacrifice molle space.

There are a bunch of options out there.

Currently I'm running a Shellback Banshee and a HSGI battle belt and they both fit very well on me.

The Banshee is nice and small and fits very well due to the shock cord on the cummerbund.

Read some reviews and see if you like it.

If there's anything I learned, if you're thin, do NOT get a MOLLE cummerbund. Most of the rigs simply have too much nylon and it'll just look very bulky.

I'm 6'2", 180lbs, 31/32" waist and would qualify as having a "swimmer's body".
I run a Mayflower APC with Medium plates and Ferro Concepts elastic cummerbund. The rig looks a bit small on me actually so it may work well for you.

Did you try the Crye JPC? Looks relatively small or even the BFG PlateMinus.

Cummberbund works fine, but only if you have access to someone who can modify gear, because it needs to be sewn up in the back

The Mayflower APC opens in the back and accepts any cummerbund with velcro, not sure about other rigs. I wish I could run the PIG pontoons though...
