I'll let you in on a secret, I asked DonP, he had made a few heavier duty triggermasters for ridiculous high speed setups, so I've got one of those in my 249 instead of the regular TM MKIII that kept overheating. Running an 11.1v LiPo on a neo magnet motor, you REALLY need the extra wattage of a beefier MOSFET.

I found the trick to getting high ROF, is to start with a reliable 900rpm base, then just bring it up to speed. What's so nice about the TM's is you can adjust the motor speed, so you can get it to max speed before it starts having problems.

It's also worth mentioning I have triple torque gears in my 249, not standard or high speed ratio. The downside being that because the prometheus gears are so HEAVY and spinning so fast, without active braking or a neo-magnet motor to slow them down, you've got 6-10 shots of overrun when you let go of the trigger! It's also pretty hard on the motor to stop that much momentum, so I'm usually running it at 1100rpm. Definitely need lighter gears for reliable high speed setups. Next time someone asks me to do a high speed build, I think I'll swiss cheese a set of high speed prometheus gears and see how that goes.

I'm getting all excited to rebuild it now....

The urge to create a minigun was a passing phase "new build honeymoon" sort of thing.

I've got to take a look at the gears though. I was just plain worn out after the last time I used it and haven't looked at it since.

Maybe I'll crack it open tonight.

anybody with the Shrike Kit... can you take a couple decent pictures of the eject side? theres tons of pictures on the net of the belt fed side (aka the cool side LOL ) .. but all the eject side pictures I find are of the whole rifle and I'm attempting to actually get my crooks and nooks in the right place.

or is the 249's eject side close enough to use as a reference? (it is a 249 tray cover I'm using)

just thought I'd share my progress to date still alot of detail work and painting/etc to do ... but it's looking the part now

so far still all metal (alum sheet and JBweld ) .... ofcourse the 'rivet counters' will know what I already do... not everything lines up, it's not perfect, etc ... but it's not really a replica of any particular weapon.

what does matter however is it looks Fuckin cool so far, and it'll pass milsim inspection for a SAW

heh, not bad really. we share the same box mag idea's LOL ... I'm going to be moding the same type of box mag (only electric) for the belt to feed out the top. after watching that though I am really glad I spent so much time doing all I could to make sure the box mag and the belt feed will line up (and that the belt fits!)

I've gotta see if I can find a cheap MK12 Mod 0 front end though... it was originally what I ordered for it (I was going to slot it more like the shrike front) .. but I got sent a Mod1 front end.. after considering all the costs and the BS for a $22 full front kit.. I decided to use it for now... I'll change it later if I find what I want/need ... the upper is being built so that the front end can still be changed at will without ruining anything
