Type 1 helmet covers

Hi,

I just got a Type-1 helmet, its standard and I want to put a cover on it.

http://www.armynavydeals.ca/asp/prod...r%20Reversable

I saw this but I was more interested in the netting those M1 helmets have, the ones from band of brothers they put burlap into, would the netting for an M1 fit my Type-1?

also are there any other places on the web i can get more variety in helmet covers for the Type-1? also where can I get a chin strap for it?

Thanks

If you're looking for the net alone, check eBay for 'helmet net' and you'll see dozens of nets for the M1 type helmets.

Netting is nice for WW2 or Korea (although limited use) but def. not Vietnam unless you're doing an early ARVN setup.

For the most part chinstraps weren't worn by grunts, thight that sweat band and there ya go. Also the only other cover type that would be acceptable would be a field made one with parachute material, or if going for Marine kit a WW2 Duck hunter pattern cover (either heavy canvas ones or the mosquitoe net ones)
