Photos from OP: Toan Thang in Washington

Here are a couple of photos from our Toan Thang op last weekend. They were taken by legendary photographer Charles Peterson ( www.charlespeterson.net )

I'm not impressed by his pictures to be honest.
I do find his other pictures impressive on his website.

Lovely pictures.
Well, Charger managed about half of that crowd; which I would say is not bad, either.

Have to comment on one thing, though. Our crowd is not quite as young looking.

The average age of the combat Solider in vietnam was 19. The average age of our group is about 19.

The youngest out there was 12 the oldest (VN vet) was 60. Most of the participants were 16-18 with about 1/5 over 25.

remember down in the states they aren't as stuck up about the whole 18 issue...which to me makes no sense (21 to drink, ppft lol) but thats a whole other thread.

If there was some way of being able to head down to Washington for some of the big events you guys hold, i know that a bunch of us from BC would be down in no time. Looking good!

Thanks! It seems the big thing with US/Canada is the AEG problem. I think we might have a solution but we need to find a dealer in Canada who can help out.

I own a Retail store here in the states and what seems to make the most sense is to have one retail shop send the AEGS to the other. That way we can get the guns down here and return them after the event. With BC less then a day's drive away from Washington shipping times would be fast.

So if we can find a friendly retail shop in Canada, I think we could get you guys down for the July VN game: Attack on U Mihn Forrest. We haven't set a date in July yet and would love some feedback.

We don't run force on force simulations. We have fixed OPFOR and the participants are tasked to realisitic squad and platoon structures. Shooting is secondary at Battlesim events. The focus is on simulation of realistic action in a realisitic environment. Our last event had a full platoon structure with a CO,XO, 1st LT, RTO, PLSGT, , squad leaders and team leaders. There were full operations orders for each of the three missions with detailed direction on movement, actions on target and mission completion. The day was a continuous 5 hour mission with no breaks to "run to the car" or have lunch. You were always moving to objective, performing mission, returning from objective or breifing. There were 15-20 minute breaks between the missions back at FOB while command staff finalized mission details where people ate and drank but they were welcome rest times in an otherwise hectic schedule.

In any case, we would LOVE to have more Vietnam players! We really hope some of you can make it down to the States! VN Airsoft is a passion that really needs to be shared to be appreciated!
