Low FPS P90

Hello

I'm building my P90 from a well shell.
I put a re-enforced matrix echo1 from www.evike.com

When I shoot I feel a lot of air come out of the front of the gun compared to when it had the plastic gearbox. But when I check the fps... it went from 240 to 157. I also notice the gun shoots all over the place....

Did I need to do anything to the mechbox before installing it?

Thanks

Not that I know p90's very well but it could be likely that you damaged the hop-up rubber, I'd check your hop up assembly before cracking the mechbox open.

The well shell is crap. Tolerances are loose as hell. My guess is nothing fits together properly anymore.

I've never handled a Well but could the tolerances really make THAT much of a difference?

I guess it would depend on how different the tolerances are between the plastic and metal mechboxes. Heck, on my G36, if the magwell is out of alignment by 0.5mm it stops feeding.. so I'd imagine it can.

Though in this case are we talking about the crappy clearsoft Well (D90 I think it's called), or their newer one that's a TM clone?

Yea I see your point, But if you swallowed a bb and farted it would go faster then that.

True. I agree with you, hop-up sounds like a more likely culprit.

That and I'd also clean all the gunk and shit echo1 puts in their mechbox out of it.

Yea, I was installing a JG v3 Mechbox once and a friend fired it and it shot lube out the nozzle, It was pretty gross. I can only imagine what that would have done to a hop-up.

One thing I have noticed is that when it comes to the aftermarket parts from "clones", the tolerances can be way off, especially with tappet plates, hop up units, and nozzels. Take the old nozzel and compare it to the echo 1 one and see if there is any difference. I worked on a D-Boys EBR M14 and had to replace buddies nozzel and tappet plate. The tappet plate (modify brand) was actually shorter than the original D-Boys one, and the nozzel had a thicker OD (outter diameter). Even though we lightly sanded down the OD problem so it's sit in the hop up unit properly, the difference in tappet plate length of just 2mm caused the nozzel to sit to far back that he suffered a loss of over 150 fps. We took a nozzel from an AUG and filed it down to 2mm longer than the modify M14 nozzel, and she went back to shooting at 400 fps consistantly
It took a little while to figure it out, so while you are checking out the hop up unit, make sure that the nozzel is the right length and seats correctly into the hop up unit. It might be the problem.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the help.

I ordered a new hopup last week. I thought it could be the problem when I looked down the barrel. It just didn't look right.

As for fitting... it's a perfect match.

I have a 6.04 plus a new hopup coming.. So I will see after that.

But again thanks for the help

Hello

I just got my hopup from Evike. I want do business with them again.

This is what I got

I don't have any instructions on how to put it together and it feels like I'm missing parts?
I don't even see any rubber components.

Can anyone point me to a diagram so I can see how to assemble it and to check if I have any missing parts?

Thanks

Hop up units don't come with rubber parts (the hop up rubber and bucking) when you buy them, you have to buy that separately.

Anywhere really. Not sure where your location is, but Jugglez at airsoftparts.ca is who I usually buy from. He's in Toronto.

OK

I have a new hop up installed with a new 9.6v battery also.

The gun still seems to miss feed. I shoot 2 bbs at the same time every 3 to 5 shots.

They seem to spin forward and go towards the ground. I turned the hop up both sides... not much difference...

When I look down the barrel I see a triangle shape in the hop up.

This is all the info I can think of.

Thanks for the help
