Bah, I'll just walk over to the toc and laugh at you mopping the floor. Yea good old Bde sigs, got to hate us, I know I do...

And to the discussion, Skeletor is correct, most guys buy their own attachments for the C8, and C7. Since they continually give us crap equipment.

Pretty much done my C8 FTHB, I'll be painting it and maybe changing it to a SFW or CQB.

Finally got the right handgrips and an Aimpoint.
Sorry for the crappy pics .

The only 'glaring' thing is the sling attachment behind the receiver, otherwise not half bad

Who makes the Repro? I wasn't even aware that repro ones were made.

Regardless, I LOVE my TRIAD

Warbird: Who makes the buttstock and handgrips on that?

Gato: I found both in the classifieds
Lerch: I know, I just haven't had the chance to change it to the fixed one
Mike: I'm gonna guess it's a repro, because it was only $20 or maybe $40, I think.

Hello guys !

I have finally decided to give up my AEG C8A3 and make a C7A2 GBB. I'm selling the relevant parts but i don't have access to the sale section of this site (age verifier and stuff)

So if anyone's interested, I'll sell the Guarder body with RS markings, ambidextreous mag catch, green guarder pistol grip, sling loop plate, G&p steel fire selector and King arms dummy right selector. Contact me if interested...

Best

Vincent

Hi guys, I have a question about C8s and their use in CF.
Will this pass for a non-SF C8? I know the vast majority of infantrymen are issued C7, but I am not going for 100% legit look.
Based on KJW M4A1, correct receiver & barrel markings are my next step.

p.s. Stock, handguards and grips are almost the same color, its just my sucky lighting and photographing skills.
p.p.s. ACOG is there because i like 4x optics over EoTechs and ELCAN is too bulky for my taste.

You could go for an Elcan C79 instead of the ACOG. Also, we don't use the full-blown RIS on our rifles; we use the Triad-Rail mount, though good luck trying to find one. That'd be ideal though.

Otherwise, not bad. You could also spring for an ambi-mag release, and the coat-hanger-sized charging handle too.

The only thing I could really pick on is the barrel, either a slim C8 or a heavy C8A3 barrel would be a standard. If you got picky, the sling bracket behind the receiver and the fat grip. The rest could just be labeled as private purchase

After combining some studies from ShadowTwoSix and other references from other threads in this forum, this is what my current C8A3 looks like.
My current C8 impression:

Originally I opted for a more conventional C8 look by spraying the CADPAT light green with the original carbine stock and butt pad, but once I upgraded my Multicam kit to CSOR impression, I also upgraded the rest of my gun to more "customized SOF" style. With this I added the 2" barrel extension (haven't made the custom barrel extension yet), Vortex flash hider, used VLTOR stock, and changed the RIS and removed the delta ring. For accessories I used the EOTECH 552 and the PEQ-15. I also wasn't able to get the proper engravings for the fire selector unfortunately, so I think I will redo the CNC someday to get it right. I also not sure how factually accurate it will be to remove the delta ring and attach a RIS instead. Btw, please feel free to share with me what you think. Thanks!

And here it is, my C8A3 after major mods.
I got someone to do my engravings in HK and it came out exactly how I preferred. The fire selectors have accurate markings

Other things include:
  • Simon Sleeve
  • Spectre Dr 1-4x
  • Ergo grip
  • Sling plate
  • Vortex flash hider
  • Vltor IMOD Stock
  • PEQ-15

I originally wanted to put the PEQ to the top, but I after realized how much it was blocking the sight, I took it off.
I will eventually paint it tan someday, but for now I consider the project as finally completed.

I'm resurrecting this thread. I want to build a C8 but so much time has passed is it still do-able? Any idea what base gun I should start with? That's the big question for me. The other things like the front rails and the Canadian but stock I'm sure I can source somewhere?
Any and all Help appreciated.
