Polished the controls on my 226. Might get the slide bead blasted.

I'm assuming this is a fullmetal P226, so how about stripping the outer barrel, magazines and guide rod?

Well, I pretty much swear by TM GBB's but I decided to get a WE because I could get it for pretty cheap and to see if I could make it a little better. I started to mess with it tonight. Swapped the sear, valve knocker, and inner barrel with TM pieces, 9ball piston, SV stickers, silver WE grip safety, borrowed WE magwell, stock TM outer barrel(holds inner barrel tighter than WE setup and it doesn't rattle in the slide anymore) tightened up the thumb safeties, teflon tape to help seal the inner barrel hop rubber better and I'm using a TM magazine with a homemade high flow valve with it. The slide to frame fit is not that bad and the gun doesn't rattle anymore. The gas efficiency is good, I can shoot a full mag with fairly rapid firing. Accuracy seems better than stock but not as consistent as a stock TM. I gotta admit though, this is a pretty nice looking WE.

You said home made hi-flow valves, I know that its a simple mod but I can't find somewhere that gives instructions (i'm not looking too hard either).

Would you mind giving some insight on how to do the mod?

Cut off some of the supporting posts. Simple as that.

The stock valve has four posts. Cut two opposing posts to remove the restriction and increase flow volume. For more consistency, cut just one of the posts and install the valve so that one wider opening faces up and out of the port.

I modified my valves just like ILLusion said. I cut two opposing posts off.

Got my new comp setup in today. Got a great deal on the rare SD X-comp, $40. Once I get my beadblasted slide/comp and beadblasted/duracoated frame back I'll have this installed on my open class SVI. Then switch to an SD 5.1 LDC silver Infinity slide. Yea, I know the chamber is marked "STI". SD doesn't make a comp barrel marked with "Infinity" and I couldn't find the blank one in stock.

Rough, crappy chop of how its going to look:

And heres some in progress shots of the frame and slide. Note the darker finish and copper color showing through on the cheaper TM metal compared to the 7075 SD Aluminum slide. Thats why the frame is getting Duracoated too.

It's marked "38"? Ewww?

Or does that mean something else I'm not aware of?

Damn, now I really wish I had bought a TM P226 and a KSC SP2009 from Anderson when I had the chance. Glorious GBB's by the way Krame

.38 Super Cal is the caliber of choice for many top pistol match competitors, particularly in IPSC and USPSA sports shooting, particularly when equipped with a compensator, because it meets the minimum power factor to be considered as a Major charge, while having more manageable recoil than .45 ACP.

Realize that sport guns are not meant to stop a man.

Threw on the SD comp on my WE/TM spare parts gun. Not much left on this thing is WE anymore. The only important part that is still WE is the hop up unit/loading ramp with the exception of the hop up rubber. Also figured out at extremely easy way to pin the grip safety.
