Designated Marksmen Stock.

I'm currently working on a M16 designated marksmen rifle using Madbull's JP Rifles/Viking Tactical 12" front end and am in the market for a good stock. I'm currently looking at G&P Knight's Type G&P M16 Knight's Type Sniper Stock. It has an adjustable length of pull, and dosen't look too radical. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with it as I'm looking to fit a 8.4v 3600mAh large battery in it. It says it's rated to a 9.6v 3300mAh, but the traverse 7th battery on a 8.4v pack is wider than the 7th and 8th packs on a 9.6V. Should I risk getting it or play it safe and sick with a standard M16A2 stock? An few additional options I was thining of were using a Crane stock similar to G&P's SPR/A or routing the wiring forward to a PEQ box and using a 6 position tube stock with Command Arm's M4 stock and adjustable cheek rest.

Any opinions would be appreciated,
Vic.

Not a fan of CAA... LMT all the way. Can't beat that LMT feel.

I'm working on a similar project... SPR Mk12 Mod0
I'm using a G&P full stock simply because it was available right away. Here's what the arse end looks like:

It fits my 8.4V 3600mAh no problem and could probably fit another cell easily. I rather like that adjustable sniper stock you linked to. Has the benefit of large capacity and adjustable length if you have longer monkey arms like me... I would stay away from crane or other similar adjustable stocks (despite how sexy they look) simply because you have to buy crane stock batteries; and the extra wear and tear of sliding the stock could cause a wire short.

But hey, this is airsoft, so you have to pick something you like and run with it.

BTW, Here's Illusions build of the same rifle...

Ive always been a fan of the Right sniper stock. Unfortunetly, everyone Ive ever spoken to, or any review Ive ever read has stated that the stock is garbage, badly put together, screw holes strip and just its just plain shity. Its a shame that it has to be like that cause its a nice stock.

Either go with the new knight stock, since it has an adjustable ass.
OR
buy the replica VLTOR fullstock.

The Right Sniper Stock looks a lot like what is on Leon's gun from the film "Leon" also known as "The Professional," which was a movie that I really enjoyed. I'm leaning myself towards the KAC as it comes with a QD sling swivel, is adjustable for my monkey arms (I know what you mean Murdoch), and the M16 that I used for my marksmen qualification felt rather comfortable.

I love the stock but its build is crap, the best thing I managed to find was instructions on how to build my own. Which Ive just been to lazy to do.

Crane stock is the most conformable stock I have ever used fits softly on your cheeks. The one I used was from Trigger Happy.

I'd go with a Hurricane HK417 stock simply because it holds a large battery and has a telephone cord styled wire so I can extand or retract the stock with no problems.

How would one get a PRS? I know ebaybanned stopped having them on their website, so the clone is unavailable. Also, with that stock, I would have to run either a PEQ or a ready mag battery system as I would not want to damage the stock if I had to get a real steel version. Any thoughts on this? Also, if I was spending that much money, CAA's line of sniping stocks would be an option.

I would go for a ACE skeleton stock type. LandArms make one that will hold up to 10.8v, 1500mAh. You can see it on the madbull airsoft site under JP-rifles 12" handguard, second row right column.

For a dedicated marksman rifle, why would you need 3600mAh? That is more that I use in a month on my assault rifle, not conserving ammunition.

They just happen to be the batteries that I have, outside of the 5 G&P 8.4v 1.1Ahs. Nice AEG, Eeel One, how does that stock feel?

The stock feels super sweet. The foam on the top tube is pleasant to put your chin on while aiming even in cold weather. To be honest I did experience a problem with the the tubes not being rock solid and they dis twist a little bit. But gluing the pivot points seems to keep the tubes in place and prevent them form twisting so I have have a very solid stock.
The skeletonized design really lightens the overall picture of the gun which measures over 3 feet in length
