Batterys

I will be ordering a King Arms M4 Carbine - Full Metal with Clear Furniture from airsoftstore.ca for my starting gun (Renting cost too much). I was wondering what kind of batteries I should get for the gun.

Batteries 11.1V or 9.6V?
what type of battery?

If you're just starting out, ignore NiMh (nickle based) batteries. They are old, expensive, sub par tech batteries. You want LiPo (lithium).

These will do fine for you. It's a 2 cell (7.4v) LiPo battery that won't be too hard on your internals.

The 11.1 version of that battery will give you a faster rate of fire and quicker cycle time for semi auto, but it will wear our your internal parts faster.

It's a better electrical connection. It's mechanically more reliable too. Generic "t plugs" usually are compatible with deans.

You can. Just know you'll need to change the connectors on your aeg too. If you're getting both from airsoftstore.ca, they can probably change over the aeg for you too

changing to deans is easy, you need:

1 solder iron set
1 pack of shrink wrap or electrical tape or both
1 set of deans

other than the solder kit, it's really sub $10 to change it.
youtube the tutorials..it takes less than 10 mins

Just as a note, you will need a better charger... if your gun comes with a charger then it's only good for nimh. You'll need a smart charger for lipos. A good charger is important as lipos are the most dangerous when being charged

Get 7.4 lipo
Get a charger that can charge lipo, preferably a computerized charger like the iMax B6
Put deans/T plugs on the batteries and gun, it is not necessary but it is really good to have. If the mini tamiya plugs in a setup warm up when firing, the setup would benefit from using deans.
