thanks! super informative! quick question tho...does canadian tire carry all those different lubes? silicon spray/gel, "sticky-g" molybdenum grease? if not where do you guys get these?

You;re not supposed to use silicon SPRAY since it contains petroleum which can eat up your plastic. It has been mentioned probably a billion times on this forum. I would avoid any type of silicon spray. Canadian Tire caries the Lith-Ease for $3.59. It will serve you a long time. There is also another brand called MG Chemicals which makes silicon gel and white lithium grease which can be sourced at local electronic stores. Im in Toronto, and there are 2 stores that carry MG Chemicals products- Active Electronics and Sayal Electronics. However, I dont use white lithium grease anymore, i use Tamiya ceramic grease.

For Molybdenum grease, Tamiya manufactures a nice one, but a bit expensive. You can find it at your local hobby store.

I just did a quick search on the CT site and i dont see any lith-ease. I am also looking for something to clean/lubricate my gun with.

You have to check multiple Canadian Tires (I went to 2). Some have it, some dont. It looks like a very old package, check the automotive section.

I use white lithium grease on mechanical parts that don't involve rubber seals or orings. I find them in small tubes in the automotive section.

CT may have changed the name of the product. a few things are under different labels now. (assuming that one label bought out the other)

to clean, you can use a bit of 100% silicon oil and a clean rag.

I've been recently informed that Ultra Slick Multi-Purpose Synthetic Grease is the new Super Lube

Hi i recently purchased a WE GBBR M4 and i was wondering wut are some tips on maintenance and tips on using the gun i.e. filling the gas into the clip i have had problems i think with the filling of the clips sometimes the gas fills and sometimes it doesn't but im always doing the same thing i hold it for about 10 to 15 seconds ands sometimes it runs out after 3 to 4 shots or sometimes after two clips any help would be great thanks.

Just to add on what Six4 said, RC shock oil is 100% pure silicone oil. Go to an RC shop and ask for 15-25 wt. RC Shock Oil. A 4 oz bottle of "Factory Team" Shock oil cost me $5 CAD IIRC.

EDIT: I just realized that those posts were made in Summer, and Gearbox Monkeys post was made like half a month ago but still that info is still correct....

This is my first time using and operating an airsoft gun, and I need to ask.. What do I do for a clear plastic, spring pistol? Specific brand, if needed is Cybergun .44 desert eagle.

Use it till it breaks.

Its not really cost effective to perform any type of repairs on low grade soft air.

Keep the barrel clean and don't be rough with it.
