Check these guys out. Their leatherwork isn't all that fantastic and I would reccommend going elsewhere but for starter wool tunics they aren't half bad.
www.hikishop.com If you're looking for insignia, At the Front has probably some of the best, and you can get them in packages iirc. *edit, love the avatar btw.

P.S WW2 replicas have leather soles, you will need to take really good care of it after every single event. Carrying for boots is another research subject on it's own...

Re Boots from SMW... Their quality has deteriorated significantly despite the high prices they charge. I bought a pair last year. After two events, they were falling apart. Stick with the the Euro vendors. There sadly isn't a viable provider with a reliable product in NA at this time. God, I miss Robert Land.

one pair I have had for 3 years .. the uppers have held up well the. soles.. I have had to replace some hobnails, and glued and nailed the half sole where it started to separate from the sole. but I expect to get many years of service from them. kept clean, dry, regularly conditioned and repaired SMW boots will serve for years. Taken off the shelf and into the field with no preparation .. they will fail. I do about 1/2 hour of maintenance for every 48 hours of wear.Because of this my boots are supple, waterproof and comfortable. in WWII every company had a Schuster to maintain the footwear of the soldiers.. that is 1 guy for every 100 men or so who's job it was to fix and maintain boots. The individual soldier was responsible to take care of his boots, cleaning, oiling was done at every opportunity possible. European made boots are good, but they will fail as well if not maintained.

X2 What Brian has said.
My first pair, cheap junkers for $120 shipped. The leather is cheap, ripped in a few places... But I have always maintained every inch of them. 5 years on... Still in use with my brother, going strong. SMW - Bought mine a few months before Brian, no issues yet. Every few months, especially in the summer (more usage months) I give my boots a good coating of 100% pure neats foot oil, until it cannot soak up more. This goes on the whole boot, bottom as well. Finish up with Obenaufs LP, and they are good. For winter, I may give a small coat or two of "Sno Seal" just as an added touch. After an event... Brush clean, no dirt is to remain.

You are lazy or really rich if you don't take care of your WW2 replica boots. We care more about our repro boots than about our 75 year old rifles.

They don't but they do require a lot more care. K98 can be completely cleaned and oiled in about 20 minutes while boots require about an hour to clean/oil them after event.
